• An earthquake is when the earth shakes and destroys things.
• It is measured in the Richter magnitude scale.
• It affects lots of areas but as you get closer to the plates it gets
worse.
• An earthquake is dangerous because it can nock over things
and cause them to fall sometimes on people and kill people.
• There is different types of earth quakes depending on there
force.
• Plate tectonics make earthquakes because if there wasn't
plates there would not be earthquakes.

1960s.
• Plate tectonics is a theory that earths outer
layer is made of plates.
• The pieces of outer layer float on top of the
asthenosheere.
