Technology Overview:
Over the past 15 years Potential Difference Inc. has been developing an innovation for electric vehicles
(EVs) that will allow all EVs to recharge themselves as they drive. The innovation is called Regenerative
Acceleration (ReGenX). Regenerative Acceleration is the exact opposite of regenerative braking which
is currently used in EVs to recharge the EV’s batteries while decelerating the EV.
Deceleration of the EV during the regenerative braking mode of operation is caused by the EV’s motor
which is used as a generator to capture some of the vehicle’s inertia and convert it back into electrical
energy which is then stored in the EV’s batteries for reuse.
During this process the generator produces Generator Armature Reaction which is a Counter
Electromagnetic Torque, otherwise referred to colloquially as regenerative braking. As the name implies
regenerative braking causes the EV to decelerate and the greater the magnitude of electric power sent
from the EV’s generator to the batteries the faster the rate of EV deceleration. Maximum available
energy return during EV regenerative braking is no more than 15% of the initial energy that was required
to accelerate the EV up to speed.
A research team at McMaster University’s Power
Engineering Lab has confirmed after a full month of testing
and evaluation; that the Regenerative Acceleration
innovation produces Stator Coil Induced Magnetic Field
Weakening.
The RegenX Generator innovation’s Stator Magnetic Field
Weakening in concert with a Patent Pending Load Current
Delay are the key aspects which allow the ReGenX Generator
to reverse the electric vehicle regenerative braking paradigm
by creating a Complementary Electromagnetic Torque.
When the Regenerative Acceleration Generator innovation is
charging the EV’s batteries it does not decelerate the EV but
rather it accelerates the EV and the greater the magnitude of
electric power sent from the EV’s ReGenX Generator to the
batteries the faster the rate of EV acceleration.

The ReGenX innovation is a Patent Pending direct replacement
motor/generator coil which can be integrated in to all electric
motors and generators globally.
In electric motor applications the ReGen-X Motor can be employed
in all existing and future electric vehicles to allow for continuous EV
battery recharging during 100% of the EV use, during acceleration,
coasting and braking.
Next Steps – Technology Commercialization
ReGenXtra Inc. is partnering with McMaster University’s
Eco Car Program to integrate the ReGen-X Motor
innovation into an electric vehicle. ReGenXtra is hiring
one of the original Ph.D evaluators while another will be
joining ReGenXtra’s BOA.

ReGenXtra is also developing the ReGenX Generator for electricity generation applications.
In electric power applications the ReGenX Generator operates without producing any Generator
Armature Reaction. Generator Armature Reaction is responsible for 80% of the energy input cost
associated with generating electricity and 100% of that is waste byproducts such as greenhouse gasses
and Nuclear waste.
Future electric generators employing ReGenX technology will consume 80% less mechanical input
energy and produce 80% less prime mover pollution.
