About JB Electronics:
J.B Electronics is an assembler and a retailer for home appliances electronics and many others
electronics products. They are so confident that their prices are the lowest, that if you should
happen to find a lower price with one of their competitors, they will match that price. All products
they sell are brand new and packed by the manufacturer.
Products:
Their products include Home appliances which includes Fridge, Air conditioners, Deep Freezers,
Vacuum cleaners, Geezers, Microwave ovens, water dispensers, LED’s, Heaters, Voltage
stabilizer’s and washing machines. These products are manufactured in countries abroad as well
as some of them here in Lahore and then assembled and then distributed forward.
10 Operation Manager’s Decisions
1. Good and service design:
Customer’s wants found after conducting the research that majority of them want products that
are low in cost and also give good performance. Since the products cannot be designed for every
single individual differently the products by this organization targets the general population and
trying to provide them ease and comfort through their products. Products include microwave
ovens, refrigerators and Air conditions etc., that meet the needs of today’s market demand which
appeals both in its design and price. These products are a must and a need nowadays in every
household which makes the marketers jobs a little easier.
2. Quality Management:
Price of the products are kept in the mid-range mostly because majority of the peoples income is
also in mid-range target with a few exceptions of the appliances or high end appliances can be
arranges upon customers special requests. Since the prices are mid-range the companies that
are produce the appliances try their level best to keep the quality also a priority including the
peoples purchase power and living standards but naturally the quality of these mid ranged
products are not as superior compared to the high end ones.
3. Process and Capacity design:
Latest methods are technology are used in making their products to ensure better quality products
and ensure customer satisfaction. The Operations department ensures the maximum quality
check and minimum human resource in the overall process according to policy only certain
amount of man power is allocated to specific machine assisting in its operation and supervision
and packing and handling of the product. Maintenance is done on quarterly biannually and
annually designs by the maintenance staff.
Since different products arrive from manufacturers then capacity of the products produced and
distributed on a rough scaleis drawn where a part of the products are then also sent to their outlet
here in Peshawar which includes Pel which produces on average 10000 for Peshawar region,
800 split AC’s, 500 oven, Orient fridge 6000 units, 1000 water dispenser, 1000 leds, 400 vacuum
cleaner, split AC’s units 2000. Chang Hong, 100 leds, 100 split AC units.
4. Location Selection:
Pel, Orient main warehouses are in Peshawar for KPK province, while of chang hong is in Lahore.
Our ware house, in which we store our products from the company ware house is located on
RING ROAD, which access is quite easy and containers are directly loaded from it. Areas in
Peshawar include Khyber bazar branch which covers Kohat road area, warsak road, charsadda
road area, dalazak road and main city, and the sadder branch covers the sadder cantonment
area, Bara road and university road area.
5. Layout Design:
J.B electronics commercialofficeis located in Karachi and their plants are located in Lahore which
is of Pel Company, Orient’s is in Lahore, Chang Hong’s also in Lahore. Its other stores also
included in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad other than Peshawar. There is decentralized decision
making and plant manager are fully authoritative to take the necessary decisions accordingly.
6. HR Requirements and Job Design:
Jb Electronics personnel are about 300 employees and the company focuses on flat team
cooperation and working with cross-functionalteams, which is a group of employees from various
functional areas of the organization-research, engineering, marketing, finance. Human resource
and operations are focused on a specific objective and are responsible to work as a team to
improve coordination and innovation across divisions and resolve mutual problems. Moreover
there are suggestion boxes place at different places in the plant. Management and coordination
team gives a prompt and response for all queries place in that box.
HR closely tracks the employee’s progress in the firm and all has strong networks with suppliers
and research institutes and very often teams are multinational and operate mainly virtually. It is
clear that teams and their new product development projects contribute a lot to the success of the
product, thus they are really important.
7. Supply Chain Management:
Suppliers depend on companies, Jb electronics receive product from different companies which
includes both low cost and high end multiple products as the inventory for Pel has ware house in
Peshawar from where we get Pel products, same goes for Orient, it also has ware house in
Peshawar and we receive products from their ware house. Chang hong products are directly
supplied to the company from Lahore. Strong relationships with suppliers are a must as much of
the processes relies on 3rd
party logistics.
8. Inventory:
Jb’s inventory is built keeping the view of demand, minimum levels of the inventory has to be
maintained. FIFO technique is used. Raw material is not stored and is consumed on daily basis
whereas finished goods are dispatched within one week of production on FIFO basis and
assembled upon their arrival.
9. Scheduling:
Seasonal forecast strategy is adopted and demand forecasting is done on quarterly basis even
monthly for which is broken down into weekly plans depending on customer and product priority.
Whereas the labor duties are circulated in multiple shifts in each plant.
10.Maintenance:
A complete electrical and maintenance department is there to look after all the necessary
electrical and maintenance needs of the plant which have the necessary machines which helps
in the assembly of the products once they arrive. A lot of effort is put in to use the latest and up
to date techniques and methods for maintenance of the machines through their well trained staff.

  • 2. About JB Electronics: J.B Electronics is an assembler and a retailer for home appliances electronics and many others electronics products. They are so confident that their prices are the lowest, that if you should happen to find a lower price with one of their competitors, they will match that price. All products they sell are brand new and packed by the manufacturer. Products: Their products include Home appliances which includes Fridge, Air conditioners, Deep Freezers, Vacuum cleaners, Geezers, Microwave ovens, water dispensers, LED’s, Heaters, Voltage stabilizer’s and washing machines. These products are manufactured in countries abroad as well as some of them here in Lahore and then assembled and then distributed forward. 10 Operation Manager’s Decisions 1. Good and service design: Customer’s wants found after conducting the research that majority of them want products that are low in cost and also give good performance. Since the products cannot be designed for every single individual differently the products by this organization targets the general population and trying to provide them ease and comfort through their products. Products include microwave ovens, refrigerators and Air conditions etc., that meet the needs of today’s market demand which appeals both in its design and price. These products are a must and a need nowadays in every household which makes the marketers jobs a little easier. 2. Quality Management: Price of the products are kept in the mid-range mostly because majority of the peoples income is also in mid-range target with a few exceptions of the appliances or high end appliances can be arranges upon customers special requests. Since the prices are mid-range the companies that are produce the appliances try their level best to keep the quality also a priority including the peoples purchase power and living standards but naturally the quality of these mid ranged products are not as superior compared to the high end ones. 3. Process and Capacity design: Latest methods are technology are used in making their products to ensure better quality products and ensure customer satisfaction. The Operations department ensures the maximum quality check and minimum human resource in the overall process according to policy only certain amount of man power is allocated to specific machine assisting in its operation and supervision
  • 3. and packing and handling of the product. Maintenance is done on quarterly biannually and annually designs by the maintenance staff. Since different products arrive from manufacturers then capacity of the products produced and distributed on a rough scaleis drawn where a part of the products are then also sent to their outlet here in Peshawar which includes Pel which produces on average 10000 for Peshawar region, 800 split AC’s, 500 oven, Orient fridge 6000 units, 1000 water dispenser, 1000 leds, 400 vacuum cleaner, split AC’s units 2000. Chang Hong, 100 leds, 100 split AC units. 4. Location Selection: Pel, Orient main warehouses are in Peshawar for KPK province, while of chang hong is in Lahore. Our ware house, in which we store our products from the company ware house is located on RING ROAD, which access is quite easy and containers are directly loaded from it. Areas in Peshawar include Khyber bazar branch which covers Kohat road area, warsak road, charsadda road area, dalazak road and main city, and the sadder branch covers the sadder cantonment area, Bara road and university road area. 5. Layout Design: J.B electronics commercialofficeis located in Karachi and their plants are located in Lahore which is of Pel Company, Orient’s is in Lahore, Chang Hong’s also in Lahore. Its other stores also included in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad other than Peshawar. There is decentralized decision making and plant manager are fully authoritative to take the necessary decisions accordingly. 6. HR Requirements and Job Design: Jb Electronics personnel are about 300 employees and the company focuses on flat team cooperation and working with cross-functionalteams, which is a group of employees from various functional areas of the organization-research, engineering, marketing, finance. Human resource and operations are focused on a specific objective and are responsible to work as a team to improve coordination and innovation across divisions and resolve mutual problems. Moreover there are suggestion boxes place at different places in the plant. Management and coordination team gives a prompt and response for all queries place in that box. HR closely tracks the employee’s progress in the firm and all has strong networks with suppliers and research institutes and very often teams are multinational and operate mainly virtually. It is clear that teams and their new product development projects contribute a lot to the success of the product, thus they are really important. 7. Supply Chain Management: Suppliers depend on companies, Jb electronics receive product from different companies which includes both low cost and high end multiple products as the inventory for Pel has ware house in Peshawar from where we get Pel products, same goes for Orient, it also has ware house in Peshawar and we receive products from their ware house. Chang hong products are directly
  • 4. supplied to the company from Lahore. Strong relationships with suppliers are a must as much of the processes relies on 3rd party logistics. 8. Inventory: Jb’s inventory is built keeping the view of demand, minimum levels of the inventory has to be maintained. FIFO technique is used. Raw material is not stored and is consumed on daily basis whereas finished goods are dispatched within one week of production on FIFO basis and assembled upon their arrival. 9. Scheduling: Seasonal forecast strategy is adopted and demand forecasting is done on quarterly basis even monthly for which is broken down into weekly plans depending on customer and product priority. Whereas the labor duties are circulated in multiple shifts in each plant. 10.Maintenance: A complete electrical and maintenance department is there to look after all the necessary electrical and maintenance needs of the plant which have the necessary machines which helps in the assembly of the products once they arrive. A lot of effort is put in to use the latest and up to date techniques and methods for maintenance of the machines through their well trained staff.
