Introduction to the Programme
Objective:
A national programme to motivate and support private and public actors to reduce
CO2 emissions from related transport activities
Beneficiaries:
• Businesses, property developers, fleet operators
• Cities, municipalities and regions
• Tourism associations
• Schools
Important incentive for eco-friendly mobility
contribution towards reaching energy, climate and environmental targets of EU
and Austria
Helps create new “green” jobs and stimulate the economy

How much support is provided?
• Support is calculated based on the actual environmental impact of the project
• Either 20% of the investment costs OR environmental effect (lowest of the two values)
• Environmental effect is calculated:
• EUR 450 / year of reduced t CO2
• EUR 50 / year of reduced t NOx
• EUR 10 / year of reduced kg dust
• Additional grants (5% each) if (i) combining 2 measures, (ii) awareness raising, (iii)
inclusion of further companies and/or stakeholders
• Grants capped with 30% max. for all applicants
• For vehicles a lump sum is given based on size and technology used

Example 1: Purchase of an Electric Forklift (incremental investment costs)
• Innovative and forward-looking firm wants to ensure that they have state-of-the-art
technology
• Purchases an electric forklift instead of a diesel forklift
• Investment Costs: EUR 38 330 Grant 20%: EUR 7 666
Example 2: Car-Sharing System
• Energy Association in Austria wants to implement a car-sharing system in 5
municipalities across Austria
• Objects eligibly for funding: 5 electric charging stations, car-sharing system, operating
costs for the car-sharing system (i.e. licenses for an online platform, staff costs),
marketing, planning
• Investment Costs: EUR 62 740 Grant 20%: EUR 13 585

• Kommunalkredit Public Consulting manages the entire programme from the technical
and financial appraisal of grant applications, submission of approval to the Ministry of
Environment, fiduciary management including disbursement of grants, to the conclusion
of grant agreements
