The business of travel has evolved
especially in the internet age. It has
taken tourism to new heights with
online booking , selling , tracking
and even hiring their own staff. For
a travel management company to be
able to perform high standards in
business and achieve tremendous
success , it needs the collaboration
of different people. These people
work together so that they are able
to serve the traveling public.
A. Administration
B. Operations
C. Marketing and Sales
The administrator of TMCs performs different
function .These are the following:
A.General Administration
handles the legal aspects of
the organization. The
implementation of company
policies and rules, standard
operation procedures are
initiated by this department
B. Personnel section
takes care of hiring ,training,
and educating their staff.
c. Accounting section
Manages all records of the
company, including all licenses
and permits. All billings ,credit
and collection and formulation of
budget, as well as monitoring of
payables and receivable are taken
car of this department.
D. Finance section
is the money side of the
business. It handles all records
and take care of all the cash
collected and disbursed..
The Operations Department acts
as the implementer in the
delivery of the company’s core
product which is to serve as
intermediary between the
suppliers and the client. Among
big TMC/travel agency, operations
is sub-divided into two section
namely: Travel Operations and
Tour Operations.
A. Travel Operations
Take care of the needs of
traveller even before they embark
on a journey
B. Tour Operations
deals with creating, designing,
developing and costing tour for a
group of traveller. It consist tour
operators, tour coordinator , tour
guides and escort, among other
Marketing section- the one in
charge in terms of creating
awareness about their product,
services, and other information
about their agency . it creates
more sales opportunities for
the company
Sales section - that does the
selling after all the concerted
effort of the marketing
section .
