3. Let’s talk a little bit about your travel
• Have you ever traveled abroad?
• Which country have you been to?
• When did you go there?
• What did you see there
• Was it interesting?
7. Reservation
Reservation may possibly include request that can be accepted and
honored for instance when booking for an airline seat, traveller may
indicate that the passengers needs a wheelchair, an oxygen bottle during
the trip, or a special meal. These requests may be done and also be
accepted and requests can be honored. If reservation are done, requests
are accepted, noted, and given an okay by the supplier, then the
reservation may be confirmed
8. Reservation
A confirmation is made by the supplier(airline, hotel, car rental
company etc.) when every detail of the reservations and
requests is possible. Reservation confirmation is an
acknowledgement given to the traveler for their requested
reservation, that is, a seat in a flight, a room request, a vehicle or
a ticket for the show.
9. Different kindsof
ReservationReservations can be done in three ways namely manual reservations,
electronic reservations, and automated reservations. Manual
Reservation
Electronic
Reservation
Automated
Reservation
10. Manual Reservation
Means that the traveler goes directly to a TMC and
transact a possible business with them face to face. It can
also mean that the would be traveler calls up the TMC
personnel via a regular phone or a mobile phone to
inquire and may possibly transact the reservations right
away after a much-needed counseling.
11. Electronic Reservation
Means that the travelers have contacted the TMC through
e-mail or have reached them through their website, and
were able to make a reservation.
-Travel web portal may allow consumers to book online.
-They can also go directly to the website of airline, hotels,
or they can even avail of the services of online bookings.
-e.q Agoda, Ebookers.com, and Travel Book.
12. Automated Reservation
-Assistance of TMC(booking using a GDS)
-Need to qualified to book and is a partner of specific
GDS, so that they can provide a booking for a flight or a
room in the hotel
14. The Technology That Changed Air
Travel--sat around circular tables with scores of index card-
one for each flight- housed on a rotating shelf
(“a Lazy Susan”)
-Only 8 operators could fit around a reservations table,
so once airlines had many more flights in their fleets
and started processing many simultaneous bookings,
they began to face serious headwinds.

Reservation can come directly from travellers, but they may also be initiated by various establishment like TMCs, tour operator, airlines, and other organizations

Sometimes before some passengers proceed to electronic booking, their intial transactions may just be an inquiry through email
-Electronic reservations is somehow similar to automated reservation. Both use an interactive website
To book a seat, the operator would have to find the flight’s index card, mark it to indicate the booked seat, and write the flight ticket out by hand. The process would take 90 minutes for each reservation.
