This document provides instructions for adding new pages to a WordPress site, including how to add content, title the page, select the "Visual" tab, and add the page to the website navigation menu by checking the box next to the new page and clicking "Add to Menu". It also discusses optimizing the new page for search engines using the Yoast SEO plugin to add a focus keyword, SEO title, and meta description of no more than 155 characters containing the focus keyword.

15. Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
• Now that your page is created and displayed in the website
navigation, you will need to optimize it for search engine
discovery.
• The Wordpress SEO plugin by YOAST can be used to optimize
your site and submit it to search engines.
• The following slides will describe the SEO process.

18. More info on Updating Page SEO
• The Focus Keyword is how you would describe your page in 1 or 2
words.
• The SEO Title is the title the user sees when searching. The title should
contain the Focus Keyword and have a length no longer than 65-70
characters.
• The Meta Description is a brief explanation of what is on the page and
should be no longer than 150-155 characters in length. It should also
contain the Focus Keyword. Don’t forget to click “Publish” when
finished.

The “Page Analysis” tab shows you more info
about specific SEO issues with the current page.
