2. Significant Projects
Projects at Allegis Services India:
1) Project Title: Full Vehicle Model Build
Role: Team Lead
Client: (GM-Europe)
Duration: (12 Days)
Location: Allegis In-house
The scope was to execute the Full Vehicle Model Build for GM Europe.
The project involved plan, execute, build & run the model for 10 ms.
The Team size comprised of 12 Engineers.
The input (CAD) was in HM/IGES format which was estimated & then assigned to Individual Engineers.
The modeled mesh was reviewed by Assembly engineers & then the Assembly Task was carried out.
Then the Full Vehicle Integration was carried out.
The Queries were sent back & forth before delivering the final model.
Continuous interaction with clients.
The Model was cleared for 10 ms.
Animation & Energy Curves were checked before delivering the model.
Assumptions & the result reports were sent to the client along with model.
The negotiations for the project billing was carried out.
Similar Projects were executed in Allegis In-house.
Tool Used: Hypermesh, LS-Dyna, LS-Prepost, Primer, VCD
Projects at GMTCI (Crash & Safety):
1) Project Title: GATE & Post Gate Work – Frontal and side Structure Assessment
Role: Team Member
Client: (GM-NA)
Duration: (20Days)
Location: GMTCI
The scope was to assess whether the down gaging of the present model will have implications on safety of the
occupants in the event of front and side crash.
The model was debugged for any errors for different run times depending on the load case.
Swapped the parts that are to be down gaged and re ran the models respectively.
Measured the intrusion levels at each of the frontal load cases.
And plotted the graph for intrusion levels for the IIHS USNCAP.
Submitted the reports to the customer.
Similar Projects were executed in GMTCI (Crash & Safety)
Tool Used: Animator, Hypermesh, Hypergraph, LS-Dyna, Primer, LS Prepost

3. 2) Project Title: Correlation for SOF Load case for IIHS
Role: Team Member
Client: (GM-NA)
Location: GMTCI
The scope was to analyze the crash pattern and kinematics of various components of the vehicle and correlate
with the actual crash test conducted at GM test sites in FEA models
The Input models (US) was provided from GM-NA.
The Design and modifications in the FEA modeling discussed & implemented to the model.
The force distributing in the vehicle during the frontal impact for SOF load case was analyzed using various tools.
Plots were plotted and the animations were studied in depth to know the kinematics and behaviors of load
carrying structural parts during the impact.
Also studied the pictures and videos of the actual test of the same vehicle.
Studying the behavior of dummy in the event of crash for SOF load case.
Successfully brought the behavior of the FEA model close to the real test.
Presented the reports to the customer.
Tool Used: Animator, Hypermesh, Hypergraph, LS-Dyna, Primer & LS PrePost
Similar Projects were executed in GMTCI (Crash & Safety)
3) Structural assessment for various load cases like Full frontal, ODB, side pole and SOF
Role: Team Member
Client: (GM-NA)
Location: GMTCI
Scope of the project was to report the intrusion levels for the above mentioned load cases after modifying the
structural parts.
The modified parts were updated in the vehicle and subjected to various tests required by the customer.
The model was debugged and the animations were checked for the behavior of the load carrying members for
the various load cases.
The intrusion levels were measured for each of the load cases and reported back to the customer for IIHS and
US NCAP requirements.
Tool Used: Animator, Hypermesh, Hypergraph, LS-Dyna, Primer & LS PrePost
Similar Projects were executed in GMTCI (Crash & Safety)

4. 4) Study of Bolt forces at Door Hinge location for SOF Load case.
Role: Team Member
Client: (GM-NA)
Location: GMTCI
Scope of the project was to study the bolt forces at the Front Door hinge location for SOF load case
The Front Door of LH side gages were reduced and subjected to crash for SOF load case.
After debugging the model, ran the model for 200ms.
Collected node force outputs at the hinge location and plotted bolt forces vs time graphs using hyper graph.
Graphs were compared with the based model and a report was prepared and presented to the customer
Tools used: Primer, Hyper graph & LS Dyna.
5) Study of damages occurring due to frontal crash in TPIM .
Role: Team Member
Client: (GM-NA)
Location: GMTCI
Scope of the project was to reduce the deformation on the main frame of TPIM due to frontal impacts
There was plastic strains coming on the main body of the TPIM due to frontal impacts
These deformations had to be reduced to lower the repairing cost of the vehicle in case of any frontal
accident.
With several design changes to the components supporting TPIM, successfully reduced the deformations
coming on the main body of the TPIM.
Tested the changes made to reduce the deformations on ODB & SOF loadcases as well.
Tools used: Primer, hypermesh, animator & LS Dyna
