this document will not only remain as a supplement of the Bangladeshis in AIT in the second
decade of the 21st century, it will serve as an archival item for those who will try to know about
the lives of the AIT students of this time. I wish a wider readership and appreciation of this
laudable effort. My sincere thanks to the editor.
First of all my heartiest congratulations to the management and all
members of AITBA for bringing out the supplement. Every year AIT
welcomes students from across the world although Asians make the
majority.
My hearty congratulations go out to AIT Bangladesh Association for bringing
out the inaugural issue of its magazine. The magazine helps record the extra-
curricular journey of the Bangladeshi community at AIT, and provides an
opportunity to showcase their talent and explore their creative potential.

Though AIT is a multicultural institute and we have this excellent opportunity to blend with the
people in various culture, AITBA nurtures and promotes our own tradition, culture, thoughts,
homely feelings and bonding. I feel enthusiasm and excitement by participating in the various
events organized by AITBA. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the AITBA
Executive committee of August 2017 for their hard work in publishing the AIT Bangladesh
Association Magazine 2018, as well as organizing other events. This is an excellent and
innovative initiative by them and I hope this initiative will continue in the future as well. As the
NewYear 2018 dawns,I wish all AITBA members a very happy and prosperous new year.
It has been 18 years since I have been residing at the AIT campus and
attached with the AIT Bangladesh Association, and I realized the other day that
the main reason of my stay in AIT is because I feel a homely environment here.

savouriness easily pulling us apart from each other; it is extremely important that we
meet often to talk, to laugh and to share our happiness, sadness or experiences/ views/
opinions. AIT Bangladesh Association (AITBA), being a non-religious non-political entity
whose primary objective is to bring AIT Bangladeshi community together time to time to celebrate national
and international events and uphold the country's face, is one such platform which gives us ample opportunity
for those. It gives me immense pleasure when I see AITBA is very active in conducting different activities and
encouraging our students and staffs to actively participate in different AIT events. My heartfelt gratitude and
congratulations to AITBA for this new initiative to come up with this AITBA Magazine. Indeed it is a great

AIT Bangladesh Association is a small but strong platform where we, Bangladeshi students of AIT,
share our culture, nurture and practice our traditional events, express our emotions to our fellows.
Along with the mandatory events celebrated by AITBA, we, AITBA August 2017 committee, has tried our best to initiate
several new events such as Pitha Utsob, Sports week, Cultural night and One dish dinner party and AITBA Magazine, for
the first of ATIBA history. This Magazine aims at enhancing the writing skill of AITBA members. Hope next committees
of AITBA will keep publishing AITBA magazine and assemble few more dimension like research works and academic
development related topics. I aspire to express heartfelt gratitude to the all beloved AITBA members who has shared
their writings with us. I want to admire the effort of our editor, Nilay Kumar Sarkar, took to bring out the first magazine
of AITBA. I don’t want to escape the zeal to thank our stylish designer, Zarraf Tajwar Adib, for his wholehearted effort to
make this endeavor successful. I must thank Sanjida Showkat for her valuable exertion to design and edit the Magazine.

Welcome to the first Magazine of AITBA. This is for the readers who want to know about AITBA that AITBA
is a small community formed by professors, staffs, students of AIT from Bangladesh and their family members
staying in AIT. Every semester AITBA committee organize programs like fresher's reception, farewell of the
graduates, welcome trip and so on.
Also some amazing members of the community having extracurricular skills participate in cultural program, mini Olympic, food festival and
in other festival and competitive programs organized by AIT or Student Union. This semester some addition was appended; cultural show,
Pitha festival and Electronic flyer; which helped to amplify extracurricular activities and also communication and networking among the
community members. I am profoundly honored for being chosen as the editor and want to convey my sincere thanks to the AITBA President
and the Committee for having trust and confidence on me. I also want to send my respect to the volunteers for their hard work, without you
accomplishing this task was impossible. Thanks to the all community members for encouraging me always. Last but not least, I wish to
impart my sincere and humble gratitude to the contributors. They had semester final exam and then semester break when they were supposed
to spend this time by doing fun activities or with family, but still they managed time and contributed for this flyer. I am deeply honored for
their cooperation. As the first initiative, there are a lot of rooms to improve, I believe next committee will continue publishing and will do all
the things which we were not capable to do. Thank you all.

It is always enchanting to me to do something creative. I am really happy to do the formatting and design
of the first Magazine of AITBA. A real truth, only a mother knows the pain to give birth a child. This
Magazine is something more than giving birth of a child to me. Its an outcome of many sleepless nights, it
was really a tough game of color, style, write up and combination.
I was President of AITBA on August-2016. As a past president what I feel about present AITBA committee is all about a positive vibes.
When a positive vibes roam around us, we all become bound to support and help the endeavor. As a president I did only few mandatory
events of AITBA during my tenure but I had a zeal to do something more for AITBA. So, I tried to provide my best effort and guidance to
running committee to do something really exceptional and they did really astounding. I came to listen from many members as well from my
own experience I must say, the coherency we have seen among AITBA’n in running semester is praiseworthy and the events they have
arranged should be applauded. I felt, if they can initiate AITBA Magazine, it could be a great start of practicing something really new for
AITBA. So, I gave my best effort and time to design and format this Magazine. I yearn to thank our editor Nilay for coordinating
magazine issues very nicely and I must thank Sanjida Showkat for her prominent effort to help me in designing the Magazine.
My wholehearted appreciation goes to Kazi Atiah Taiyebi, President of AITBA August-17 team for her outstanding

9. Our journey started on Monday. We more than 50 students who enrolled at ERT (Energy Resource Technology) course went Energy
building in morning. We were discussing about our exam (though I do not like to discuss exam after it finished :D), we were talking about
our upcoming journey, many were busy to take photos and selfies and when the double decker bus arrived, we started putting our luggage
in bus and before bus started, one group photo was taken. A busy morning! But it could not delay our journey a moment, bus started just
at 8.00 am as scheduled.
Our first destination was Solarta Co. Ltd. They operate a PV power plant in Sena, Ayutthaya on 3rd October. After that we moved to
Chiang Mai. It was the longest journey of about 8 hours. Next day, on 4th October we first went to Fang Geothermal power plant. It is the
only geothermal power plant in Thailand and it is operated by EGAT. This place is just 10 km distant from Myanmar and Lao border, it
is a hilly area and population density is relatively very small. This plant was built in 1989 to provide help to neighboring areas and specially
farmers. Electricity generation cost is 6 Baht/unit and selling price is only 2 Baht/unit and this electricity is being generated without using
fossil fuel and harming environment but only by taking geological advantage, which is really an impressive thing. This location is also a
tourist spot, but we were lucky enough to be permitted to enter the plant and to observe its operation. After that plant, we went to Micro
Hydro Power Plant, which was only 5 minutes distance from Geothermal Plant. It is operated by PEA. There we met some AIT Energy
Alumni. After that we came back to our hotel.
If you are asked to pick a name of a gift given by AIT you are always going to remember, which one you are
going to choose? Tough question!! In AIT we are provided with so much blessings; multicultural environment,
quality education, opportunity of being familiar with different cultures, traditions and foods, green campus,
security, travelling and so on. I know everyone will choose based on his/her priority and taste. But still answering
this question instantly will be difficult for anyone. I was also asked this question by a friend of mine and it took
me days to answer! And finally, after a lot of thinking I found the answer, it is the week long Energy trip.
The Energy trip is scheduled for every August semester after midterm exam. After a stormy and exhausting mid-
term we all were thrilled about the trip. We were looking for something that could help us to get rid of boredom
and tiredness, and our expectation was the trip would be this "something" but actually it was more than that.

My Best Memory In AIT
Next morning, we headed to Chiang Mai university. Some of my Thai friends
completed their undergraduate from the university. They were very excited to
return their old home. Energy Research and Development Institute, Chiang
Mai University (ERDI-CMU) operates a biogas plant, we were there for it. It
is quite amusing that a university has its own power plant which is also
environment friendly. But it was not the only interesting thing we witnessed.
In the ERDI building on the staircase number of energy consumption and
CO2 emission was written which can be saved if anyone uses staircase instead
of the lift. There they also showed us their work to combine circular economy
and renewable energy. It is worth to add that, some of the researchers were
also AIT alumni.

10. In both plants we were welcomed by AIT alumni. In the Sirkit oilfield there is a big museum. There were big bang theory and evolution both
in animated and photo form, there were a lot of samples of soils, minerals and oil from deep soil and so on. There is also a small 4D movie
theatre there. It was my first 4D movie experience.
On our last day, our first destination was Rice Husk Power Plant in Phichit which was operated by A. T. Power Co. Ltd. And then to Wind
Turbine in Lamtakhong, Nakkon. The location of the wind plant is the most beautiful place I have ever visited in Thailand It is a trip worth
remembering for many reasons. We visited 8 different types of power plants, among them 6 were renewable and one electricity distribution
station. We observed and witnessed some technologies what we learnt only in textbooks. We were allowed to have first hand experience
about operation. We talked and discussed with experienced personals there, we learned about potentiality, challenges and future prospects of
energy sector in Thailand and also in Asia. We saw a good number of AIT alumni working in significant positions in public, private and
research sector, it was quite inspiring for all of us.
Then we headed to Mae Moh Coal Mine and Power Plant in Lampang. It is the
largest coal power plant in this region and the location was also very beautiful.
That plant was too big that it was not possible to visit whole plant in only few
hours. We only went to control and monitor stations. Next morning we started
our journey to 230/115 kV Transmission Substation, Phitsanulok 2 in Phitsanulok
and then to Sirkit Oilfield, Lankraabue, Kampaergphet.
What was the best thing of this trip? Travel, learning or technology? I would not
pick any of these. Rather I would like to mention the friendship that was created
among all us during the trip. The course curriculum of AIT is very tight, time flies
so fast here. Up to mid-term most of us was only familiar with others, friendship
was created with only few fellow students. Because in most of the working days we
have to run one class to another class, we had limited time to talk with others. This
trip gave us chance to be close. We shared one bus, everyday we took breakfast
and lunch together, at night we explored the cities together and of course we
talked and discussed a lot.
We talked about our countries,
our undergrad life, our dreams
and aims about future, our
feelings about AIT life and so
on. This trip is a memory worth
remembering for life time. And
I always thank AIT and Energy
program for this invaluable gift.

14. Akash woke up by screaming! He was sweating as if he was dragged through the deadly fire-caves of the hell but survived
somehow. He was dreaming. His wife, Zareen, who was sleeping right across the queen size bed, woke up hearing him scream.
”What happened, dear? Oh my god, you are sweating like hell! Here, drink some water”, said Zareen. After calming Akash
down, Zareen asked him about what he saw in the dream. Akash said, “It was just a nightmare, don’t worry. You should rest”.
Zareen took his hand and placed it on her womb and said, “Don’t panic dear, your daughter and I are always there with you, no
matter what.” Yes, Zareen was expecting a baby girl within 2 months. Zareen turned off the lights and fell asleep within few
minutes. But that night Shahin could not sleep. A voice was completely wrecking his identity, his new world he built for
himself. That winter night he could hear what collation sounded like, he not only could sleep because of that nightmare which
sat on his chest in a manner a vulture sit on its prey to gulp it gradually, but also because of the guilt of what he did to
Onamika, one of the victims of Akash’s game of hearts!
Long ago, around 10 years back, Onamika was a girl from a middle class family who used to study in Grade 12. Akash was an

side income, so why not!” Soon Akash became Onamika’s home tutor. Being
compelled by his nature he started flirting with Onamika. Time flew and soon
Onamika also became a part of Akash’s love game without even realizing.

15. The flaskback flushed all the happiness Akash had today. He could not wait to meet Onamika and beg for forgiveness, he
just wants to meet her once and say, “Oh Onamika, I am sorry, I did not realize how you felt, how inhuman I was, I beg, I
beg for your forgiveness”. So the sooner the decent hour began, he tried to contact Zakir to approach and find Onamika.
He called Zakir.
Akash said,”Hello, Zakir, how are you friend? It has been a year we haven’t met.”
Zakir said,” Yes, you have been so busy lately. However, when are we having the good news of you becoming father?
When is the delivery date?”
Akash answered,” Soon, my friend, the expected date is two months ahead. By the way, do you remember our student
Onamika? How is she doing? Are you still in contact with her?”
Zakir, “Why are asking about her after so many years? She passed away. She was such a bright student but I do not know
what went wrong.”
Akash could feel his face becoming pale, his hands being ice cold, yet, he managed to control himself, deep down inside
praying that whatever he just heard is a nasty nightmare as well. But it was not.
Out of disbelief he continued,“Oh my god! Are you sure? How did she die? What happened?”
Onamika came to know that she was just a side-chick, nothing more. Couple of girls started texting her ensuring that
Akash was their boyfriend as well. Onamika said nothing, she was shattered, she could hear her heart collapsing. That day
she met Akash for the last time, she cried and cried, that day the angels were cursing, the Satan was dancing, the sorrow
were ashamed and the smiles were doomed in the eclipse. Onamika did not scream, did not ask any question like who,
how or why, she just said,” One day you will have a daughter and then she will make you realize how heartbreak feels like.
That day, you will be helpless. One day , one day.”
They became close and closer and then even closer, sometimes in such way they never
should have been. Akash, being the master of flirtation, managed to maintain few other
girlfriends during the period of his and Onamika’s relationship. Onamika was truly,
deeply and madly in love. All the love songs started making sense to her, all of a
sudden her concerns became being a beautiful bride, Akash’s bride, her priority just
became ups and down. A year passed like gentle breeze passing through a beautiful
sidewalk of a river. Out of excitement, one day, Onamika posted a couple picture of
Akash and her in a social media public group. Akash had no idea about it as he always
used to forbid Onamika to talk about their relationship to anyone. That day, that post
was the beginning of the havoc.
Zakir, ”I heard that after passing Grade 12 she became drug addict all of a sudden,
she could not get admitted in any decent university. She stopped listening to her
family, she became sociopath. In a word, she became a troublemaker. One day her

17. Background
In 1999, UNESCO decided to launch the International Mother Language Day (IMLD) which is to be observed
throughout the world each year on 21 February. This celebration is designed to promote linguistic diversity and
multilingual education, to highlight greater awareness of the importance of mother tongue education.
It is a day for celebrating all mother tongues. In other words – a day to celebrate language diversity. Supporting
language diversity is also about supporting inclusion and acknowledging that language diversity helps to enrich us
all; that this diversity of languages is a treasure, not a barrier.
In the context of education, it is impossible to teach the majority of people to read and write in a language they don’t
understand. It is easier for you to learn a second language if you have learnt your first language well.
Why 21 February?
The date, February 21, represents the day in 1952 when
students demonstrating for recognition of their language,
BANGLA, as one of the two national languages of the then
Pakistan, were shot and killed by police in Dhaka, the capital of
what is now Bangladesh.
21st February is a national day of Bangladesh to commemorate
protests and sacrifices to protect Bengali as a national
language during Bengali Language Movement of 1952. On this
day thousands of people from all walks of life and ages walk
barefoot to the Shaheed Minar to pay tribute to the martyrs of
Language Movement. They sing the February 21 anthem: Amar
bhayer rokte rangano ekushey February.

19. Functional Committees of Student Union are:
1. Academic Affairs: They arrange divergent events to enhance academic skill of the students of AIT. Some of the
popular events of this committee are Academic Olympiad, Research Magazine, Online Quiz Contest, Basic Thai
Language course, Research Exhibition, SPSS and MATLAB Workshops, Research exhibition, Debate competition
and different seminars.
2. Accommodation & Reservation: They mainly help new students to reach AIT safely, get their residence,
familiarize them with campus environment, arrange a Welcome party and coordinate with AIT accommodation
office to solve accommodation related problems of students.
3. Assets & Recreation: The committee arrange fun programs for AIT students to come out of stress of academic.
They organizes DJ night weekly and some unique events like Welcome party, DJ battle, Acoustic Nights, Valentines
night, Halloween party, Farewell party. Normally, SU Cafe is used to organize parties and they have a music room
for music junkies. SU cafe can be booked arranging community or personal programs too.
4. Campus & Environment: They promote cultural harmony and raise awareness on environmental issues and
concerns within the campus. They arrange campus walk for new students, environmental debate, monthly food
market, environment related drawing or writing competitions.
5. External Affairs: The committee pay their sole attention to arrange a career fair which is a great platform for new
graduates of AIT to get their desired job and internship. They arrange regular career talks by distinguished
faculties, academicians and industrialists to help the student to develop their career. They also arrange company
and industry visit for AIT students for free.
Asian Institute of Technology, established in 1959, is a leading regional postgraduate
institution which is well-known for its multinational, multicultural ethos. It is actively
working with public and private sector partners throughout Asia and with some of the
top universities in the world. It has a student wing known as Student Union (SU) run
independently with a vision “To work for the students, with the students” by
motivated and energetic student representatives in order to facilitate academic
requirements and enhance better student life during study in AIT.
Student Union consists of Executive Committee and 10 functional committees. The
executive committee includes President, Vice-president, General Secretary, Treasurer
and General Assembly Speaker. Member of the executive committee is elected by the
vote of the students of Asian Institute of Technology in each semester. The
Chairperson and Secretary of the functional committee of Student Union is selected
by the executive committee and approved by the general assembly members.

6. SU Film & Entertainment: This committee arranges
diversified entertaining events to develop cultural unity,
teamwork and they create platform for AIT students to show
talents. They arrange Treasure hunt, video making
competition, movie nights etc.

20. 9. SU Media: SU Media plays a vital role in covering the events organized by other committees. They try to ensure live
streaming of Cultural show, sports events etc. They prepare monthly newsletter, Batch book, Handbook and maintain
AIT-SU Website, Official Facebook Page.
10. SU Sports: This committee organizes Welcome game, Mini Olympic, AIT-NIDA sports day, slow bicycle race, mini
marathon which provides opportunity to AIT students to show their sportsman skills.
7. SU Gender & Culture: This committee arrange one of the biggest event
of AIT, Cultural show, every semester where students get opportunity to
show their talent in drama, singing, dancing etc. as a representative of
their country and win awards. Another two big events of this committee is
arranging Award Night and Food fair.
8. SU Leisure: This committee organize Welcome trip and Grand trip for
AIT students, Welcome trip is free for new students and they take a
minimal cost from old students, staffs or faculties. They arrange really
nice and well-structured 3-4 days trip for AIT student at different
beautiful places like Koh samui, Phuket, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai
etc.
How to book Korea House ?
First of all, you have to meet with office
secretary of SU office, Kun Jib to check
the availability of Korea house on your
desired date and time. If its ok, show
your student/staff id to her. She will
give you receipt to pay money to
cashier. You have to pay refundable 500
baht as deposit and rental fee
according to your need. After paying
money to cashier, you have to show it to
kun jib for confirmation. After your
event, to get back the deposited 500
baht, you have to meet kun jib to take
deposit receipt and go to cashier to
take back your money. Here to be
mentioned, Korea house can be booked
with sound system or without sound
system. Without sound system, it cost 50
baht per hour and with sound system
150 baht per hour if the booking is for 2
hours. If the booking is for more than 2
hours, with sound system the cost is 100
baht per hour (50 baht discount). One
more important thing, if the booking is
at midnight (after 12.01 am), the cost is
150 baht with or without sound system.

page. Then login with your id
and password to the site from
right top corner login option.
Then click on current student
option, check services/forms/

that is MEB booking, click on that
and provide required
information as needed. On
program day, call security at
025246000 to open MEB.
You can book other classroom,
get handbook, booklet, search
students or staffs information
from current student page too.
How to book SU Cafe ?
At preface, meet with office
secretary of SU office, Kun Jib to
check the availability of SU Café
on your desired date and time. If
its ok, show your student/staff id
to her. She will give you receipt to
pay money to cashier. You have
to pay refundable 1000 baht as
deposit and rental fee 350 baht
per hour. To confirm your
booking, show your receipt to
kun jib after paying money to
cashier. When your program is
done, take deposit get back
receipt from kun jib and go to
cashier to get back your money.

21. Bangladesh Embassy Thailand invited AITBA to observe the
National Mourning day of Bangladesh at Bangladesh Embassy,
Bangkok premise on 15th August 2017. AITBA Aug-17 committee
along with AITBA members went to take part in this important
event. As it was working day, most of the AITBA members could
not take part in the event. The transportation cost was partially
supported by AITBA August-17 committee. Zarraf Tajwar Adib,
past president of AITBA, delivered a speech on behalf of AITBA.

National Mourning Day
To develop friendship with international
communities AITBA Aug-17 committee has
arranged a friendly cricket match with AIT Indian
Association on 24 August, 2017. This match was a
part to take preparation for the Mini Olympic too.
All the players were provided with water, energy
drinks and chocolates. It was a great match
indeed but unfortunately rain was the winner of
the match.

22. AITBA Aug-17 Committee has arranged
the most exciting and expected event of
AITBA, Welcome Trip, at Koh Larn,
Pattaya on 9 September 2017. As this
event is mainly arranged for new
students, it was really great to see all
new students went to the trip. The total
participant of the trip was 20.
AITBA Welcome Trip
AITBA members have started their journey very early in the morning, at 6.30 am. At 9.30 am
they reached to Pattaya and started for koh larn at 10 am. They have enjoyed whole day at
different sea beaches of Koh Larn island and came back to Pattaya city at 6 pm.Then they have
enjoyed their time at Walking street and finally at around 8 pm
they started for AIT from Pattaya. All participants were really
happy as it was a very well planned trip. By only 800 baht, AITBA
Aug-17 committee provided breakfast, lunch, evening snacks,
dinner and transport cost of island. To make the trip more
colorful, they made a nice T-shirt for AITBA members.

23. AITBA August-17 committee has arranged a Movie Night
on 1st October 2017 at Milton Bender auditorium where
AITBA members along with their friends and family were
cordially invited. One of the recent and important Bangla
movie, “Sangkhachil”, jointly produced by Bangladesh
and India has shown according to the poll result of AITBA
members. AITBA Aug-17 has conducted a survey among
AITBA members to select a movies among three movies
AITBA Movie Night
Amar Bondhu Rashed, Aynabaji and Shonkhochil. Finally Shonkhochil were selected and 20 members of AITBA has
enjoyed the movie together in a very nice environment like home theatre. To ensure the best amusement of the
spectators, chips and juice were served to them by AITBA Aug-17 committee.
This time AITBA members took part in Futsal, Cricket, Badminton doubles and
carom in Mini Olympic arranged by AIT-SU Aug-17. They gave really good
fight in all events but hard luck. AITBA Aug-17 committee has arranged food
and energy drinks for the players. Its really great to see, AITBA senior
member Sk Shahin Hossain, Anisur Rahman, Sheikh Aminur Rahman, Omar
Faruk Faisal and Propritor of Royal halal shop, Serajul Islam sponsored T-shirt
for AITBA team for Mini Olympic.

24. Sheikh Aminur Rahman, coordinator of Badminton did a great job for arranging everything nicely at
Thammassat Badminton stadium. The winner of Men’s double is Mostafizur Rahman Rana and Ashikur Rahman
and the winner of Female single is Tuba Mahbub Ha. For female, this time AITBA has arranged Ludo and
tennis ball throwing, the winner of ludo was Tohfa vabi and Monira moni and in ball throwing the winner is
Sports week
AITBA Aug-17 committee has arranged a very exciting and
entertaining Sports Week for the 1st time of AITBA history. This
event has started with a futsal match between “Team Jibito vs
Team Bibahito” on 23 October and the winner was team Bibahito.
Later on, AITBA members took part in cricket and winner was
‘team jiboto’. Badminton is always the most attractive event for
AITBA’n for last few semester. This time also AITBA’n have
enjoyed a mind-blowing badminton tournament.
Soma Mallick. There were few common events for male and
female like Hari Bhanga, pillow pass and slow bicycle. The winner
of Pillow passing was Monira moni and the winner of slow bicycle
race was Rafid khan Mahmud. AITBA has arranged a drawing
competition for kids where all participants were winner. Prizes
were given to the champion and runner up of all events.

25. AITBA Aug-17 has launched one
more new event “AITBA Cultural
Night and One Dish Party”. That
talk of the time event was arranged
on 29 October 2017. The prime
idea of cultural night was to
arrange a well structured cultural

program which will be a good platform for AITBA’n to practice for AIT Cultural Night. It was a successful program
indeed. Everyone was very happy and they told, they were expecting to enjoy such a nice program for so long. One
dish party was very successful and all the yummy food prepared by AITBA’n made the night really great.
. One dish party coordinator Anisur Rahman and Nila yesmin did a
great job for arranging everything very nicely. The performers
should be thanked solemnly for their great effort. The cultural
program was adorned with presentation of sports day, fashion
show, solo songs, group dance, drama, jokes, couple games and
debates. This events turned into the most colorful program due to
the active and spontaneous participation of our all members of
AITBA along with respected teachers, students and stuffs.

26. AIT-SU Food Fair
AIT-SU food fair is one of the most successful event of AITBA Aug-17 team. This time AITBA
won 2nd runner up award both in food taste and stall decoration. All community did really a
great job together. The yummy foods prepared by AITBA family members were beyond of
appreciation and the effort made by Adib, Lopa, Safa and nahid was really great. The
spontaneous participation of AITBA’n in selling food was really good.
Bangladesh Embassy of Thailand has invited AITBA to celebrate Mohan Bijoy
Dibosh on 16th December, 2017 at Bangladesh Embassy, Thailand premise. As
it was holiday, it became a good opportunity for AITBA’n to be a part of this
significant celebration of Bangladesh. To encourage AITBA’n to take part in
the event, AITBA August-17 committee gave half of the total transportation
cost. A team of 20 members of AITBA took part in that program to express
gratitude to the martyrs of 1971. The program has started with national
anthem and discussion on the significance of the day. AITBA president Kazi
Atiah Taiyebi has delivered a nice speech on that important session. Later on,
there was a nice cultural program and lunch for all.

27. AITBA Graduation Night is a significant event of AITBA. Every
semester, AITBA has to give farewell to some of its beloved
members. This time, 5 members of AITBA has completed their
graduation, among them two were PhD students, Dr Soma
Mallick and Dr. Jannatul Ferdous Manik and three students did
Masters, Ashiqur noor, Shadmani Shamim and Mostafizur
Rahman Rana. AITBA Aug-17 committee showed their love and
gratitude to the graduates with token of love.
Graduation Night and Pitha Utsob
Pitha Utshob was one of the Agendas of ATIBA Aug-17 committee. Due to the shortage of time, this event was
jointly celebrated wit h AITBA Graduation Night. The purpose to celebrate this event was to remind all about
Bengali culture “Nobanno” . One more time Nila Yesmin, Marufa Yesmin, Tarana Taznin Tohfa and Jinia Jesmin
vabi did a great support for arranging pitha’s.
