1. My ceremonies volunteering experience
First of all, I want to introduce myself. My name is Konul Eminova,I am 18 years
old ,and I am a student at the Qafqaz university at the faculty of the computer
engineering .Being a student ,I study all the necessary knowledge and skills about
computer science at the my university.During this period of time,I have decided to
work as a volunteer as well as to gain some work experience for the my future
career and to develop my worldly understanding. One of the main reasons why I
decided to work as volunteer in this time was that,I thought volunteering is a great
way to gain a deeper learning of soft skills such as communication and team-
working that are necessary in any work environment.
My first experience as a volunteer is at the Baku 2015 European Games in
Azerbaijan .Azerbaijan is a small country situated Eastern Europe and Western
Asia,to the crossroads of many civilizations. It is a country with great reserves of
generosity, willpower and dynamism. For me, Baku 2015 European Games is a
unique opportunity for my country to show the world that Azerbaijan is a young,
modern and welcoming European country. For these reasons ,i think that being a
volunteer at the first ever European Games is a wonderful chance for me to play a
part in our culture's history by helping to make the event a success and to show
the world our conuntry’s renowned hospitality and enthusiasm for sport. In addition,
being a volunteer in this ceremony has brought me a great number of experiences
and beautiful things that I have got together with the feeling of pride and share it
with my new circle of friends. Also, Watching this first European Games has also
enriched my knowledge about the Games and the different cultures of the
countries. Moreover, in this ceremony I have learned worldwide friendship,
tolerance of diversity ,understanding people, willingness for participation, tenacity
,persistence in achieving goals, and together with honesty. My experience has
taught me that diversity can prove to be a never-ending source of creativity, fantasy
and inspiration.Obviously, Baku 2015 European games brought together for a
few weeks, all the different people of the world in a worldwide ceremony of
friendship and collective effort to achieve goals , experiences and memories that
are never forgotten for me.
In fact, my first experience as a volunteer gained me to develop my skills, learn
more about career options, work with a talented team and make friends with the
other volunteers, some of whom I will definitely stay in touch with. All in all,I am
thankful to my first voluntary experience, because it helped me to understand the
philosophy of voluntariness. “VOLUNTEERS ARE NOT PAID. NOT BECAUSE
THEY ARE WORTHLESS, BUT BECAUSE THEY ARE PRICELESS.”(Sherry
