Profile of ADA
ANTI DOWRY ASSOCIATION was instituted on 25-05-1983 as a
committee by N.A.M.ABDUL ALEEM who was the student of JAMAL
MOHAMED COLLEGE at the time, under the sponsorship of Prof.HASRAT
SUHARWATHY,the then Deputy warden.
At present it has 1000 members. This association acts as the parent
association for several ANTI DOWRYASSOCITION functioning in different
parts of TAMILNADU.
It has successfully concentrated on the abolition of social evil
"DOWRY" for the past 29 years. It has conducted many conferences on
the evil effects and remedial measures of Dowry and attracted the
attention of all. Thus the activities of this association grow from strength
over the years.
The release of annual magazine name"PIRATHIPALIPPU"happens to
the annual feature. It explores and brings out creative talents of the
student. Thus the association has been responsible for the awareness of
theilleffectsofdowryandithasa farreachingimpacttowardsthe creation
of dowry free society.

Our ADA boys have done it.
I feel and grateful for those who gave me this golden opportunity to
engrave my thoughts in "PIRATHIPALLIPPU".
It's a reflection of their team work and service to abolish dowry. It's not
an easy task to publish a magazine. It's a tedious work. How a mother
suffers while giving birth to a child, similarly editors have worked and
need to be really appreciated for publishing the magazine with their
unnarrative ideas.

AWARENESS PROGRAMMES
1. In view of Eradication of the Social Evil Dowry , Live Telecast Programme
was conducted by All India Radio FM Rainbow 102.1. on 20-07-2013
2. On08-09-2013 a Onedaycamp was organized by Anti-Dowry Association
, in view of poetry, drama and conversation, at Puthanatham , Near
Manapparai. More than 100 people participated
3. “Against Dowry” SloganPamphlets were issued to Publicat variousplaces
in and around Trichy.
4. On the Eve of festival , MIME Programme was conducted against Dowry
at K.Sathanur, Trichy.
5. On 06-10-13, Dowry Awareness Programme was conducted onthe base
of Drama, Song, Poetry , Conversation and Speech at Dindigul. More
than 200 people participated
6. On 09-10-2013, Debate on Social Development Awareness Programme
was conducted in our Hostel Auditorium .On the topic : “Samuka
MembattirkkuPerithumThevaippaduvathuAatralSaalKalviya?ArulMigu
Arama ?” Moderator: Dr.M.A.S. HabeeburRahman ,Department of Tamil
, Jamal Mohamed College.
7. On 13-11-2013 , Members of ADA Participated on Dowry Awareness Kit
at the Time of New Masjid Opening ceremony at Arani , Periyapalyam in
Chennai .
8. ADA ClubMembershave conducteda drama to create Awarenessamong
our Hostel club members on 02-12-2013 .
9. On 11-12-2013, A Dowry Awareness Programme was conducted in
Inamkulathur, Trichy . More than 500 people participated .
10. On 09-01-2014 during the celebrations of Meelad Day Function, A
DowryAwareness Programe wasconducted onthebase ofDrama,Song,
Poetry, etc, at Needur Neivasal,at Mayiladuthurai .

11. During the month of Ramzan “ Special Ifthar Party” was conducted in our
Hostel Premises . In the mean time Dowry Slogans, Banners has been
posted on the wall.
SERVICES RENDERED
1. On 20-06-2013 , Warm Welcome has been given to the 1
st
year UG
students with Sweets and Time Table Cards.
2. When the Installation Function , Course Materials were donated to
differently Abled Persons in our Hostel Students .
3. Rice was distributed to Happy Home for Oldage People in Kaja Nagar ,
Trichy
4. Distributed Note Books and Stationery Items to Homeless students at
Seva Sangam Trichy.
5. We had given a DVD Player to the Blind School in Mannarpuram, Trichy.
6. Donated a Black Board to our Hostel to write “Quran and Hadith” for the
benefit of our Inmates .
7. ADA Cards with Pledge were distributed to all our Hostel Students.
8. During the whole month of Ramadan , the arrangement of Ifthar
Programme was made in our hostel as well as in our College mosque.
9. On the view of Teachers Day, Sweets were distributed to our college Staff
Members.
10. On the view of “World Sight Day” on 10-10-2013 , Our Club Volunteers
participated in “HUMAN CHAIN” at St.Joseph Eye Hospital, Trichy.
11. Our Club Members had participated as volunteers for family meeting
conducted by Muslim women Aiding Association at Trichirapalli District
on 04-01-2014.More than 500 people graced on the occasion.
CELEBRATIONS
1. The New office bearers were elected on our 29th installation Function of
the Academic year 2013-2014 in Hostel Auditorium.

Tiruchirappalli was the chief Guest and Installed the New Office Bearers.
2. ADA Alumni “Mega Meet” was celebrated on 15-08-2013 in our Hostel
Auditorium. 20Members (Past ADA Office Bearers) attended from various
places like Dubai , Bangalore and all over Tamilnadu.
 The Holograph, Pirathipallippu, Milestones and Past Records were
Exhibited on this auspicious occasion.
 At the time of Alumni meet Previous “The ADA History of Achievement”
and “The calendar of events 2013-2014” were released.

3. On 09-10-13 , Personality Development Programme was held at Hostel
Auditorium. Lion. M. Kazzali Mohamed was the resource person of this
programme.
4. On 05-12-13 , a Rally jointly with HEPSN from Court to Bishop Heber
College, Trichy was organized for world disabled day.
5. Our Associative club, Helping Hearts jointly with HEPSN organized a
WALKATHAN for equal rights from University to our college on 09-12-13.
6. On the world human rights day , a lecture on" Towards an inclusive world
equalrights forall without Discrimination" was arranged inBiotechGallery
on 09-12-13.
7. On12-12-13Onedayspecialmeeting onsports,wasorganized at Maatram
