3. Introduction
1. Beam dyeing is simply a much larger version of
package dyeing.
2. This method is similar to package dyeing but is
more economical.
3. Yarn is wound on to a perforated warp beam or
perforated cylinders
3
4. Construction
1: Autoclave
2: Perforated stainless steel
beam
3: Fabric
4: Sampling unit
5: Pressure gauge
6: Overflow expansion/add dye
vessel
7 Preparation tank
8 Heat exchanger
9: Centrifugal pump
10: Opening port with lid
4
5. Working Principle
1. The fabric or yarn in open width is rolled on to a
perforated beam.
2.The beam then subsequently inserted into a
dyeing vessel.
3.The machine is closed and pressurized.
4.The dye liquor is circulated in to out and out to in
directions , under pressure and temperature is
employed as per the process requirement.
5.The chemicals and auxiliary are injected as per
requirement of the process.
5
6. Maintenance
• Cleaning of the machine-Every batch unloaded
• Checking the water pipe-Everyday
• Checking the motor and electric connection-Weekly
• Checking the flow of water-Every hour
• Steam pressure regulator checking -Every hour
• centrifugal pump maintenance-Clean bearing,Check oil
drain plug,Lubricate the bearings
• Heat exchange-cleaning inner tubes and the outer side
6
7. Discussion
• Circulation of dye liquor through stationary beam of
fabric in open width.
• beam dyeing machines relatively consume more water
and energy both and increases cost of dyeings
• As the fabric is being dyed in open width, rope and
crease marks are not developed
