Creation of poster
1.
2. This is my original image that I
opened in Photoshop
Before I could begin
editing my image
effectively I had to turn
the image into a layer.
Turning the image into a
layer means that I can edit
it more freely.
3. To get just the single eye
for my poster I had to go
into edit, transform and
the scale to get the eye
to size where it become
the sole focus of the
image.
After I had
transformed the
image I had to crop
it so that if I tried to
move the image
later the rest of the
image I have tried to
get rid of doesn't
then show up.
4. To create the flawless Porcelain doll effect, I had
to use the spot healing brush to remove any
blemishes and tidy up her eye brow. I then used
the patch tool to create the blurred effect you
can see in the bottom left corner, I did this to stop
her jaw line appearing later on In the process. To
start making her skin look white I created a layer
mask and filled it with a solid colour (White).
5. Once I had created
the coloured layer
mask I had to
change the blending
options . I change
the underlying layer
by pressing Alt and
dragging it all the
way over to the
right. After I had
changed the
blending options I
copied the layer
three times so that I
had four colour fill
layers. So that I
could see my
actress’ face again I
then changed the
opacity to 50%.
6. After I had changed
the opacity I changed
the blending mode to
soft light. Changing
the blending mode
meant that the
picture no longer
looked like it had
layers over it but now
looked as if it was
part of the image.
7. In my film trailer I am trying to focus
on the fact that my actress is
possessed and to do this in
Photoshop had to use the brush tool
and paint the eye black to make it
look more sinister.
After I had coloured in the eye I
changed the blending mode too
overlay this makes the area that I
painted in black blend with the
eye and look like it is part of it
8. Next I added the production titles that I had
created earlier, by adding production titles it
conforms to one the conventions of film posters.
From this point I added more of the convention
pieces of information that you would typically see
on film poster like the tag line and film title and
date.
