The presentation captures the patenting trends of inventions related to waste management, in particular that related to portable incinerators and composters. The presentation highlights the gap in the size of the problem and need for innovations to cause large scale disruptions. A value creation model having a large social impact needs to evolve to make the only available source of life, livable for generations to come.

2. One of the most alarming issues resulting in global warming
and pollution of land and water bodies is the mismanagement of
disposal of non-biodegradable substance and also improper
methods adopted for treating the biodegradable and the non
biodegradable wastes.
The global plastics production doubled from 2000 to 2019
reaching 460 million tonnes.
Plastics account for 3.4% of global greenhouse gas
emissions.
Nearly 300 million tonnes of plastic waste is generated every
year -equivalent to the weight of the entire human population.

4. A trend analysis is performed to study on IP related to portable
incinerator and composter.
Nearly 3,296 families (4,551 documents) are found belonging
to various forms of IP, among which 2652 are utility inventions
636 application are for utility models and around 8 for other
forms of IP.
The global patent filing trend reveals that China tops among
the top ten countries followed by Japan and US.

12. Conclusion
The focus of innovation is majorly observed in categories such as disposal
of solid waste, apparatus or method for conversion of waste to fertilizers,
combustion apparatus or process, and cultivation activities in the Global
scenario.
The focus of innovation in India is majorly in fields such as waste handling
and disposal, cultivation and biocides, apparatus or method for conversion of
waste to fertilizers, combustion apparatus or process.
The only primary importance has been the emphasis on organic fertilizer as
a substitute for artificial or synthetic fertilizer.
Compared to the problem at hand, the need for creating a disruption
through innovations that can have an impact is critical and the scope is
tremendous for India, given the magnitude of the problem.
