2. OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT
TRANSMITTING THE DATA OVER THE OTHER ELECTRONIC
DEVICES USING LASER .
3. INTRODUCTION
LASER - Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of
Radiation
• LASER communication systems are wireless connections through
atmosphere.
• LASER will allow point-to-point communication over vast distances, through
air or space ,with little data loss.
• At present coaxial cable, twisted pair optical fibre are used for
communication.
• Typically , LASER light has a much lower transmission loss per unit length
and is not susceptible to electromagnetic interference.
6. APPLICATIONS
• Transmit data for miles with the line of sight.
• Defense and sensitive areas
• It is demonstrated on aircrafts and high altitude platforms.
• For communication across the runways.
ADVANTAGES
• Laser light has higher intensity, efficiency, as well as better visibility and
performance.
• Lower transmission loss (0.15-5db/km).
• Economically serves our purpose.
• Much faster than RF.
7. FUTURE SCOPE
• It is widely used to transmit television and data signals as light
waves.
• Further it can used to transmit video signals.
