3. 01. NATIONAL PARLIAMENT HOUSE OF BANGLADESH

4. Construction Details:
• National Assembly Building of Bangladesh.
• Houses of all parliamentary activities of Bangladesh.
• Designed by Louis I. Khan
• Construction Start: 1961
• Construction Completed: 28 Jan 1982
• Cost of Construction : Tk. 129 crore or 1.29 billion.
• Material used: Concrete Blocks
• Total Area: 200 acres (8,00,000 Sq. Meter)

5. Plan, Structure & Foundation:
• The main building
i) Consists of 9 individual blocks
ii) 8 peripheral blocks (Height 110ft)
iii) 4 offices iv)1 prayer hall v) 1 minister’s lounge vi) 1
dining & recreation & vii) 1 ablution court
And a central octagonal block (height 155 ft) used as the
Assembly Chamber having only one column.
• The concrete surface bear the imprint of the structure.
• No paint and plaster was used to maintain the purity of
the surface.
• Frankie pile foundation was used for foundation.
• Constructed by Swiss Boring Company.

7. 02. THE SHAIT GAMBUJ MASQUE

8. Construction Details:
• Founded by Saint Khan Jahan Ali.
• Construction Started: 1442 & Completed in 1459
• Its Length is 160 feet & width is 108 feet.
• Mosque has walls of unusually thick, tappered brick
in the Tughlaq style.
• There are 77 low domes arranged in 7 rows of eleven
and one dome on each corner, bringing the total to 81
domes.
• There are four tower.
• 11 arched doorways on east and 7 each on north and
south for ventilation and light.

tapering walls and hollow
and round, almost detached
corner towers, resembling the
bations of fortless.
• There are 77 domes over the
main hall and exactly 60
stone pillars.

10. 03. BAITUL MUKARRAM

11. Construction Details:
• The Holy House is the national mosque of Bangladesh
located at the center of Dhaka.
• Designed by Architect Abdul Hussein M. Tharine.
• The Mosque was completed in 1968.
• The Mosque capacity of 30,000, Now capacity is 40,000.
• Baitul Mukarram large cube shape was modeled to that of
the ka’abha at Mecca.
• Its building is eight storied and 99 feet high from the
ground level.
• The ‘Shan’ on the east is 29000 sq. feet with ablution space
place on its south and north sides.
• Prayer hall area is 26517 sq. feet with additional mezzanine
floor.

12. 04. THE STAR MASQUE

13. Construction Details:
• Exquisite white marble structure superbly decorated
with engraved floral and star patterns.
• Brightly colored tiles covering the entire polished
marble walls of the mosque.
• There is also a large shaped foundation and water
reservoir.
• Built by Mughal Landlord named Mirza Gulam Pir.
• Now it has 5 domed and used precious China Clay
Tiles from Japan & England.
• Length of the building 10.06 meter &
• Width was 4.04 meter.

14. 05. CITY CENTRE BANGLADESH

• Construction started : 21 Sept. 2004
• Construction Completed : 31 Dec. 2012
• Opened : 14 April 2013
• Height 171 m (561 feet)
• Floor Count : 37 (10 for parking)
• Floor Area : 482413 Sq. feet (44817.6 sq. meter)
• Multistory for car parking.
• It is earthquake resistant and fully equipped with fire
fighting equipment.
• There is room for convention centre and recreational
area as well as wide atrium filled with greenery.

• Opened : 2002
• Height : 74 m (243 feet)

• This is the tenth tallest high rise building in Dhaka.

• This was one of modern and tallest designed building
in Dhaka.
