Professional Summary Statements:
I'm an educationist with professional experience in multiple jobs various organizations and
universities. I have always had a strong interest in teaching/learning, research, writing and
editing mathematics books and have attempted to gain the knowledge and experience needed to
work effectively in this capacity.
More than thirty 35 years of teaching experience in different educational institutions of Pakistan
and university levels encompassing primary and secondary education, mathematics, pre- service
and in-service teacher education. I got opportunity to work as Resource Person of mathematics at
Academy for Educational Development (A.E.D) Islamabad. This was In-Country Teachers
Programme with the collaboration of University of Montana USA. In this Programme I taught
mathematics from March 2006 – June 2006 and trained 30 lecturers and professors of
Government Education Colleges of Pakistan. I worked as a resource person in professional

I have designed and taught various Mathematics courses at the Aga Khan University with the
faculties of different abroad universities like Oxford, Toronto and Birmingham. ‘Nakhla’ is one
of the big system of O/A Level I worked there as a Head of Education. It is my good luck that I
have worked with different publishers and Sindh Textbook Board and developed instructional
material.
Sindh Education Sector plan was prepared from 5th Nov, 2012 to 30th Dec, 2012 at Reform
Support Unit (RSU) Karachi where I worked as an educationist with one of the thematic working
group. Our main focus was Curriculum, Textbook and Assessment. European Union is the
funding agency and it will be implemented by Uniecf.
Project Management:
I was appointed as a District Coordinator at Khairpur (Sindh) and Turbat (Baluchistan) in
USAID, ESRA PROJECT by the Aga Khan University where I run this field based project very
smoothly. I also worked as an academic coordinator at The Education Foundation Karachi and
trained number of teachers in public and private sectors of Karachi. In Middle School Project I
rendered my services as an author and where I developed the instructional material of
mathematics from 6th to 8th grade. Then I was appointed as coordinator for the same project to
train government teachers at Provincial Institute of Teacher Education (PITE) and trained
hundreds of teachers.

Research:
Successfully completed a research dissertation as a part of two – years M.Ed. Programme (1994–
1995) at AKU – IED Karachi (A study of the causes of students’ conceptual problems in learning
Algebra)
I worked as a research supervisor at Hamdard University Karachi. Under my supervision
many students of B.Ed. and M.Ed. successfully completed their thesis on different topics.
I worked on a research project “Impact of professional development programmes for primary
school teachers of TEF – Working schools and completed the research project within time line.
Workshops and Seminars:
I facilitated a number of workshops and seminars at the AKU-IED on various topics such as
needs assessment, orientations and follow-up of programs, future strategies for sustainability,
designing and conducting NGO/CBO-based professional development initiatives, dissemination
and lessons learnt mathematics education and pedagogical concepts.
I successfully participated in five – days workshop on Textbook and Instructional Materials
Development held at Karachi from 24th to 28th March 1998 under the Middle School Project
ADB – Ministry of Education Islamabad.
