Half Term Two Focus: Disadvantaged Students
Key Idea: Prioritise disadvantaged students when marking
Ways you can do this in your classroom
• Marking disadvantaged students’ books first not only ensures that they are
getting the most out of your marking but also provides you with an opportunity
to check through their books. Have they got copies of the past papers you
recently gave out? Have they missed a lesson this week and need copies of the
resources? Has their attendance affected their understanding. Make a note of
ways they may need additional support and plan this into your lesson /
preparation of resources.
