Song is a composition of tone or voice in sequence, combination
and temporal relation to produse a musical compositian that has
unity and continuity.
Lagu adalah gubahan seni nada atau suara dalam suatu urutan,
kombinasi, dan hubungan temporal (biasanya diiringi dengan
alat musik) untuk menghasilkan gubahan musik yang
mengandung kesatuan dan kesinambungan.
The Social Function Of Song
1. To entertain listeners (Untuk menghibur para pendengar)
2. To teach moral values through lyrics (Untuk mengajarkan
nilai moral melalui lirik)
3. To provide a way of balancing public and private emotional
life (Untuk menyediakan cara menyeimbangkan kehidupan
emosional public dan pribadi)
4. To express personal feelings and cultural values (Untuk
mengekpresikan perasaan pribadoi dan nilkai-nilai budaya)
5. To allow one to share their emotions with others, and also
have an emotional connection that cannot be experienced in
any other way (Untuk memungkinkan seseorang berbagai
emosi mereka dengan orang lain, dan juga memiliki hubungan
emosional yang tidak dapat dialami dengan cara lain)
Linguistic Characteristics
1.Imagery. Imagery describe about feelings and emotions.
Sebuah lagu biasanya berusaha menggambarkan perasaan
yang dirasakan si penulis.
2.Rhythm digunakan untuk menciptakan mood. Misalnya,
apabila kita sedang bersedih dan mendengarkan lagu dengan
ritme slow, maka kita akan terbawa suasana dengan lagu
tersebut.
3.Rhyming, biasanya nada yang digunakan ada yang femiliar
dan keci.
4. Lyrics (1st, 2nd, 3rd person)
5. Words play and slang, yaitu kata-kata yang tidak biasa.
6. Figures of speech
1. Metaphor, comkparing two things that are not alike to
suggest that they actually have somethingin common.
Sekilas memang kedua hal yang dibandingkan tidak
berkaitan, tetapi sebenarnya ada kesamaan antara dua hal
tersebut.
2. Simile, compares two things using “like” or “as”. Suatu hal
digambarkan dengan hal yang mirip dengan menggunakan
kata “like” or “as”.
3. Hyperbole, a dramatic language. Big exaggeration, usually
with humor. Suatu hal digambarkan secara berlebihan,
terkadang menggelitik karena terlalu berlebihan.
4. Personification, an object appear like a person. Objek
(bukan manusia) memiliki kemampuan seperti manusia.
5. Allititration, the repetation of the same beginning sound in
a series of words. Perulkangan bunyi suara yang terdapat
di awal setiap kata.
Generic Structure
1. Intro
The introduction est ablishes melodic, harmonic, and/or
rhythmic.
2. Verse atau bait
The section that tells the story.
3. Chorus of Refrain
A chorus is the summary of the songs story.
4. Break
Add further dimension and excitement.
5. Bridge
This is the part of the song that shifts.
6. Outro or Coda
The end of the road for the song.
