21. 1. Intuition (Naluri)
e.g the sun always rises from the east and set in the
west.
2. Authority (Pihak Berkuasa)
e.g. religious authority, government, parent
3. Rationalism / Logic / A Priori (Pemikiran Logik)
e.g. the earth must be supported on someone’s shoulder.
4. Empericism (Pemerhatian)
5. Scientific Method (Observation + Reasoning)
23. A studious inquiry or examination,
especially a critical and exhaustive
investigation or experimentation having for
its aim the discovery of new facts and their
correct interpretation, the revision of
accepted conclusions, theories, or laws in
the light of newly discovered facts (basic
research) or the practical applications
(applied research) of such conclusions,
theories, or laws.

25.
26. As a manager, you will making a
several decision each day at work.
What would help you to make
the right decision?
27. Will it be your experience on the job,
your sixth sense or hunch, or will you
just trust to good luck?
28. Whether or not managers realise it,
they are constantly engaged in
research as they try to find solutions
to the day-to-day problem, big and
small
30. Knowledge of research not
only helps one to look at the
available information in
sophisticated.
31. But knowledge in landscape
architecture area is exploding
and there is an overwhelming
maze of information available
through internet.
32.
33.
34. The public is often unaware of
what researchers do on a day-
to-day basis or of how their
work contributes to people’s
overall quality of life and
general welfare
41. 2. Problem-definition Phase
Refine the vague and general idea(s)
generated in the previous step into
a precise question to be studied
(The Research Question/RQ).
45. 6. Interpretation Phase
Compare your results with the
results predicted on the basis of a
theory. Does the result support the
theory?
46. 7. Communication Phase
Prepare a written or oral report of
your study for the publication or
presentation to the public. The
report should include a description
of all the above steps.
