Teaching approach: My lesson plan is based on the PPP method and the
natural approach.
Integration of skills: What skills will be integrated and
how?Communicative and collaborative skills will be integrated through
interaction. Students will develop listening and speaking skills by
listening and singing songs, and by listening to their teacher and
repeating.
Materials and resources: I will use a computer in which I will reproduce
the video. I’ll also use photocopies of monsters, the board and pieces of
chalk, a poster and glue.
Pedagogical use of ICT in class or at home: I will use a video to support
the teaching points. The use of videos and songs can be motivating for
very young learners.
Seating arrangement: When I get into the classroom children will be on
their seats and then I will ask them by gestures to sit on the floor in a
semi circle and I will sit in front of them. To finish they will stand in front
of the computer to sing and dance with the video
Assessment: what will be assessed and how: I’ll monitor all my students
through the lesson and I’ll check whether if they understand what I say or
not. I’ll try to make them repeat the different patterns and encourage
them to use the chunks meaningfully. I’ll use lots of gestures and I’ll also
encourage them to use gestures too to check if they understand mine.
Warm up (5 minutes)
Purpose: To begin the lesson and create a comfortable atmosphere; to
introduce the students to the topic.
I’ll enter the classroom and I’ll greet the students. I’ll ask them “How are you?
Fine, so- so or bad?” after they answered me I’ll ask the kids to go and sit in front
of the board and make a semicircle. When they are sitting on the floor I will
stand in front of them and draw a house on the board. “Look! This is a house! It’s
the monsters’ house!”
3. Transition: “And Look! The monsters are in the house!”
Presentation (10 minutes)
Purpose: To Expose the students to the language; to enhance students’
communicative skills and to develop or improve comprehensive skills.
I’ll take a monster that I’ll have on paper and I’ll stick it in the house “Look!
There’s one monster in the house!” I’ll emphasize the word one and I’ll raise one
of my fingers “How may monsters? One!” I’ll encourage the kids to repeat the
number. After that I’ll take another monster and I’ll stick it next to the other
monster. “Look! There’s another monster! How many monsters are there now?”
I’ll point the monsters “One, two! There are two monsters!” I’ll do this with the
rest until we have ten monsters in the house. I’ll also ask the kids for the colors.
“What color is it?” they will answer “Red, brown, etc.”
Transition: “Well done! Now is your turn!”
Development (10 minutes)
Purpose: to develop communicative skills; to foster interaction and to check
students’ knowledge of new vocabulary.
I’ll stick on the board a poster with ten different houses that will have the
numbers on their top (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10). I’ll have a little bag or a box in
which I’ll have sheets of paper with the monsters grouped. One of the kids will
have to take from the box a sheet and count. I’ll ask some other student to help
the one who took the sheet of paper and then they will have to stick it on the
right house according to the number. “Ok, [Maite] come here and take one! You
Vicente come and help!” One of them will take the sheet and then both will count
the monsters, “How many monsters are there?” I’ll point the monsters and
encourage the kids to count them. “Ok, where do they go?” I’ll point the houses
on the board. Kids will count and tell me where the monsters go. We’ll do this
with different kids until we have the ten houses completed.
4. Transition: “Good job! All the monsters are in their houses! Let’s sing a song with
the numbers now. And let’s dance too!”
Closure (5 minutes)
Purpose: to raise students’ motivation.
I’ll bring the computer and play the video. I’ll play it once and I’ll sing and
dance. Then I’ll play it again and encourage the students to sing and dance with
me.

I’ll start to clap. “Well kids! It’s time to say goodbye now!” I’ll point the door and
wave my hand “It’s time to say goodbye!” I’ll start to sing the goodbye song.
“Let’s take your bags” I’ll point the bags’ section “Goodbye everyone, bye!”
