2. Introduction
- In order to successfully find and decided on location for our opening
sequence me and my partner have decided to find few spaces that we could
use and evaluate them, therefore state pros and cons of each, in order to find
out which one suites our needs the best.
- Due to covid measures we could not film in the actual art studio and therefore
were limited in our location choice.
When searching for the location we were considering:
- overall aesthetic
- how easily location is accessible
- availability of light
- availability of electrical power
4. Pros
- Location has two big windows therefore we won't come across any problems with lighting,
as we will be filming during the first half of the day and will have an easy access to natural
lighting.
- Located in the easily accessible area.
- Walls are white and don’t have anything that could drive audience's attention away from the
main action and that could be hard to get rid off.
- Room has plants, books and candles that would complete Manuela’s character and add
atmosphere to the sequence.
- There is still enough free space for location of additional props and no problems with
moving around while filming should arise.
Cons
- Most of props aren’t located there so they will have to be transported, which would take
additional time.
- Nevertheless, the fact that this location has all the pros listed above, it still very much
doesn’t look like an artist’s studio and this might cause audience to get confused.
6. Pros
- Location is easily accessible.
- Has enough space to locate all the needed props and equipment for filming.
Cons
- This location doesn't look like an artist studio.
- It contains furniture and objects that main character of our sequence wouldn’t
possess. Even the books, room contains do not fit the atmosphere we are
trying to share with the audience. Therefore, before filming we would need to
clean up the space and rearrange everything and take some objects out of it.
This would take us additional time before and after filming the sequence.
- As mentioned above most of the props aren’t located there and therefore,
they will have to be transported and this takes additional time.
8. Pros
- In comparison to all the previous locations this looks like an artist's studio and
fits our needs.
- Already contains most of the needed props.
- Easily accessible.
- Easel in the corner indicated artistic personality, as well as painting of trees
on the wall which would fit the mood of the opening sequence.
Cons
- It doesn’t have big windows as the 1st location and therefore some problems
with lighting while filming might occur.
- It is small we might not be able to move around easily while filming.
10. Pros:
- This space has a potential to be an art studio.
- It has most of the needed pros such as tubes of paint, brushes for paint,
paper, notebooks and pens.
- In addition, it has an easel which specifically indicates that this is an art
studio.
- It is big, so crew and cast will be able to easily move around during filming of
a sequence.
Cons:
- As with the 3rd location, this one has small windows, so difficulties with
lighting might occur.
- Location is hard to access, and we probably won't be able to film there in the
early morning
