Location Scout
Cabinet
This cabinet has a large space in front of it
making it practical for the camera to track
in for the shots that are planned for the
start of the video. There is a skylight right
above it which is creating a spotlight
effect.
Issues with this location is the fact that
lighting may become and issue with there
being no over head lighting and having to
rely on the skylight which lets in different
amounts of light throughout the day.
When it comes to filming I will have a
time limit on when I film so that
continuity of the light matches within
each shot.
Corridor
This is the corridor that leads down to the
bedroom the camera is able to track down.
An issue could be with lighting, however
the scene in which the corridor is used it is
suppose to be in the early morning so the
low lighting that would be used in the
corridor would actually match the setting it
is suppose to show.
Bedroom
The room needed to be show that this was
a teenagers bedroom so the chaos of the
possessions spread around the room. The
walls are not painted so while the room is
filled with things to show the girl isn’t from
a ‘poor’ family it shows some level of
neglect of a lack of care.
Lighting may be an issue with this room
once again as the blinds need to be closed
to show it’s the early morning and the
lights can’t be turned on. I could perhaps
open one of the blinds that won’t be in
frame or rely on the light of the laptop to
illuminate the girl.
Bathroom
The bathroom is used within the narrative
of the girl getting ready to go out,
portraying normal activities that a
teenager might do in the morning.
Issues I may come across with this location
is that it is a confined space which may
make getting certain shots like close up
more difficult. There is also multiple
reflective surfaces which could cause an
issue with the camera being seen in shots.
Staircase and Hallway
The staircase and hallway are both connected
to one another. Its another space for the
camera to easily track backwards when were
doing the shots which include the character
opening the front door.
Kitchen
Once again the kitchen gives of the
appearance of a middle class
family. It is large enough for me to
be able to film easily in.
The lighting could be an issue with
a lot of light coming from the next
room causing backlighting with the
over shoulder shot.
Forest
The licky hills is practical for this part of the
video, it has multiple pathways which we can use
to film the characters walking around. Also there
are two locations close to one another were I
could film the final shot of the girl looking out
over the forest, this means if one area is busy
with visitors to the forest there is another
location in the area that we could film that shot.
An issue with this location could be members of
the public walking into shot when we are filming.
The scene is suppose to show isolation and how
the girl and later on her and her girlfriend are
separate from the rest of the world and allowed
to be themselves.
Outside house/Road
Outside the house and the road which the
character later walks down is in the same
location, this could be filmed on the same
shoot with just the one actor present.
The issue with this shoot may be that
pedestrians may walk past as we are
filming. Also due to the fact that it is
filmed outside I have to rely on the
weather forecast and natural lighting to
be able to shoot in this location
Open space
The singer is performing in a large open space. The
open space is suppose to be bare of any
decoration and be filled with natural light. This
room has blacked out walls and large windows on
the one side which lets in a lot of light.
The issue I may have in this room would be as al
the windows are on one side of the room I would
have to film with the singer facing the windows
otherwise the backlighting would make them
appear as a silhouette
