Bechtel Corporation: Thirty-two years with Bechtel at various projects and locations, domestic and
international.
09/11 – 05/16 Sr. Contract Manager: Managed teams responsible for the complete supply chain function
from inception through closeout, including formation, bidding, evaluation of proposals and award of contracts;
administration of commercial and contractual issues; contractor performance; cost and schedule control;
resolution of claims; and contract closeout. As manager, my responsibilities involved providing the vision and
leadership to align assigned staff into a cohesive team with common goals meeting business objectives; inspiring
employee engagement to improve efficiency and produce a high quality of work; establishing a work environment
that provides enjoyment and job satisfaction for employees; employee development and training; initiating and
maintaining relationships with clients, contractors and vendors; developing project contracting strategies and
procedures, and creating and maintaining contract status and financial reports. Projects included management
of staffs up to 17 people, projects with contracts up to $1 billion in value, and contractor work forces of 646 at
peak.
06/99 - 03/07 Contract Manager: Responsible for the formation of contracts and commercial administration
through closeout, with projects of increasing value and complexity. Developed contract management programs
and procedures, project proforma contract documents, and systems to report contract status and financial data.
Negotiated contract terms and pricing, and analyzed/resolved claims. I was also assigned to the functional
contracts group providing guidance to project contract teams and member of a proposal team bidding on major
OG&C projects.
07/77 - 06/99 Field Engineer / Contract Administrator / Lead Contract Administrator / Superintendent:
Responsible for contract formation, administration, purchasing and field coordination of contractors’ construction
operations and commercial issues, moving into supervisory roles. Construction superintendent for direct hire
civil crafts and insulators. Commercial management and field coordination of contractors and craftsmen,
inspection, problem solving and interface with clients. Monitoring of contractors work effort to assure safety,
schedule and specification compliance. Specification of materials and failure analysis.

03/07 - 06/11 Wanzek Construction, Inc., Sr. Project Manager, Fargo, ND. Project manager for
construction of a 150 million gallon per year ethanol plant in Casselton, ND. Wanzek, as the general contractor,
self performed civil, structural, mechanical, piping and selected architectural buildings; and managed specialty
subcontractors. Also managed construction of a 108 turbine wind farm in White Lake, SD.
03/98 - 08/98 DSMI, Project Manager, West Fargo, ND. Multiple building renovation projects for
government entities. Responsible for all aspects of work execution, cost control and scheduling.
02/81 - 04/82 Brown & Root, Project Site Engineer, Bay City, TX
Liaison between construction and design engineering for resolution of issues associated with field applied
coatings. Developed and instituted a program for testing and acceptance of coatings applied without appropriate
documentation.
