7. 1. NATURAL EROSION
•Natural process that forms part the life
cycle of site resulting from the action of
wind and water.
•It refers to the gradual wearing away,
revealing previously buried parts of the
site
9. 2. ACCELERATED EROSION
• occur primarily as a result of the influence of the
activities of man, plants and animals which brought
about changes in natural cover and soil condition.
• The activities includes:
1. Land Preparation for raising crops
2. Land using patterns for building houses,
infrastructure, industries and deforestation.
12. 3. GLACIAL EROSION
• There are three main types of glacial erosion, PLUCKING,
ABRASION AND FREEZE THAW.
• Plucking – when melt water from a glacier freezes around
lumps or cracked broken rock
• Abrasion –when rock frozen to the base and the back of the
glacier scrapes the bed rock
.Freeze Thaw – when melt water or rain gets into the crack
in the bed rock. At night the water freezes, expands and
causes the crack to get larger eventually the rock will break
away.
15. WIND EROSION
•Is a serious natural process that moves the soil
from one location to another thru wind power..
•It is a common phenomenon occurring mostly
in flat, bare areas, dry sandy soils or anywhere
where the soil is loose, dry and finely
granulated.
16. IMPACT BY WIND EROSION
• 1, Human health
• 2. Agricultural production
• 3. Property will be sand blasted
• 4. Economic activity
