NATIONAL SERVICE SCHEME
 Introduction-
 The National Service Scheme is an Indian government
sponsored public service programme conducted by the
department of youth affairs & sports of the Govt. of India
popularly known as NSS. The scheme was launched in Gandhi
Ji’s century year, 1969. And it is developing students
personality through community services.
 NSS is a volunteer association of young people in college,
University and +2 level working for campus community
linkage. The cardinal principle of NSS is that it is organized by
the students themselves & both students and teachers
combined participate in community services. It is a sense of
environment in the tasks of nation building.

1. BY ZERO SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT IN THE
COLLEGE PREMISES:
A litter free campus can be achieved
by promoting zero waste management
inside the campus by facilitation of
composting and recycling, creation of
zero waste centre, and by reducing
residual wastes.
2. BY GREENING:
For a clean and green campus nursery blossoming into
a tree bank including seed bank should be developed
by carrying on Tree Plantation activities within the
campus.

HARVESTING IN COLLEGE CAMPUS:

By implementing P3 by M3 ,
that is Plastics Pollution
Prevention by Minimum use,
Maximum reuse and
Mandatory safe disposal
(recycling of plastics), we can
create a clean campus zone.
5. BY WASTE MINIMIZATION AND
ENERGY SAVING:
By propagating
minimization of waste in
college campus.
Saving energy, by use of
non conventional source
of energy such as solar.
6. BY CREATING AWARENESS:
By creating
awareness among
the students for
mobilizing their
support for
cleaning the
campus.
Cleanliness is next to godliness,
cleanliness means maintaining
neatness both physically and
mentally. So, keeping campus clean
also remains a part of one’s daily
duty. Extending one’s help through
these small ways such as avoiding
throwing rubbish everywhere, using
dustbins, using less plastic materials
etc can lead to a clean college
campus.
