1. Through the use of social media and
news outlets, information is easier to
spread to a wider audience. More
people are using social media, and not
only is it for its social aspects, but to
look at what’s going on around the
world.
The use of online news is a good
thing for audiences and the media
industry because it is easier for
them to access, as it is there for
them when they want it and
constantly updated throughout the
day. They also don’t have to go all
the way to the shop to buy a
physical newspaper or magazine.
2. SILENT MOVIES
• Roundhay Garden Scene (1888) is believed to be the longest surviving film and
the first silent movie.
• More silent movies followed this that are still famous,
such as the Charlie Chaplin films.
3. “TALKIE” MOVIE
• The first feature film originally presented as a talkie was The Jazz Singer, released
in October 1927.
• “Talkie” means a movie that had speaking/talking in it.
4. SPECIAL EFFECTS
• Until the late 1990s CGI was used sparingly, but in 1995 Toy Story became the
first full-length CG feature. But special effects have been used since the 60s, in
movies such as Jason and the Argonauts (1963) and the 70s in Superman (1978)
and Star Wars : A New Hope (1977), plus the other Star Wars movies that
followed.
5. AVENGERS ENDGAME (2019) VS JASON AND THE
ARGANOUGHTS (1963) : SPECIAL EFFECTS
• In Avengers Endgame, special effects such as CGI were used to make the film look
more realistic. And because of how far CGI has come since it first began, it is hard
to tell which parts of the film are CGI and which parts are not. But in Jason and
the Arganoughts, it is a stop motion. This means that models are created by hand
and used in the movie, rather than using CGI. The creator of JAA was inspired by
King Kong, which used stop-motion animation, matte painting, rear
projection and miniatures,
