By distributing the film through Lionsgate, they will be able to reach a larger audience and connect viewers with similar films. Lionsgate also has more stability and reach than independent distributors. The film incorporates themes of crime and violence that will attract their target audience. Using popular music from artists like Eminem and Dave helps attract fans of those artists. Sudden close-ups and establishing shots of familiar London settings engage audiences and attract their target demographic.
2. Distribution
By having Lions gate distribute our film we are able to distribute to a larger
audience and are able to connect our audience with relevant films such as
Brotherhood.
Also Lionsgate have better stability and reach than other independent
distributors meaning that we will be able to increase the capacity of our
audience
3. Narrative
As our opening sequence conforms the codes and conventions of a crime drama our
audience will know what to expect how ever with one of our protagonists being a
woman which challenges the this we add a twist which makes the audience want to
watch the film.
By involving themes such as crime and violence we were able to attract our
targeted audience as these are the types of themes that they are interested in.
The use of the enigma code helps to engage the audience leaving them with a
feeling of wanting to see more.
As our protagonist and characters falls in the same generation as our targeted
audience, we will be able to attract an audience as the are ale to not only
sympathise but empathise with the characters .
4. Sound
Sound was very effective in the attraction of an audience as we used music
from Eminem and Dave Black Box. Which not only set the genre but also
attracts fans of these artists as they will see that one of there favourite
artists has a song within the film and automatically be attracted to the film.
This was evident in other films such as Brotherhood having songs from grime
artists such as Chip Munk, Stormzy, Crept and Konan and J Hus.
5. Camerawork
Using a sudden close up at the beginning of the opening sequence create a
sense of surprise and catches the audience by surprise but also their
attention, making them want to see more.
Showing an establishing shot of the scenery could attract an audience as
people an familiarise themselves with the setting as our targeted audience is
based in London and our opening sequence is also set in London , therefore
they would want to watch the film as they can relate better to the film.
