2. Process
With this experimentation I tested a more bold
and cartoon look to the set of characters. In
this with the limitations of pixel art; I found
that I struggled to match that I liked. So with
the problem I chose to finish this attempted
style.
In the design of these two characters, there
share allot similarity to the tonal shading and
almost similar color pallet, only with mine it's
more saturated...
Here I experimented with different style of toning.
I originally started off with a basic shape of a character the
I experiments with two alternate tone styles with the
character.
[Mario Not Mine.]
3. Process
As I liked the charter design I used from
the shading experimentation, I chose to
re-use them in my final experimentation.
For the housing (in the background) I
created one chunk of housing whilst
keeping it in such a textured format that
it could be put into pattern, meaning that
they could be place next to each other as
much as need. With this I could now
create an infinite background. Despite
this with time running low I chose that
it'd take too much time to animate with
the addition of giving the character an
entire run cycle to match it.
4. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• Refer to the brief: Ghost Game
From this I will keep the detailed backgrounds
and the level of detailing with textures.
