directorate. They are key people who directly manage five departments including Sales
department, Technical department, Import – export department, Accounting department
and Department of general administration.

Minh Hoa Thanh specializes in distributing gate valves with brandnames of
MIHA, MBV and MI, manufactured by Minh Hoa Investment Joint Stock Company, such
as Check valve, butterfly Valves, ball valves, accessories Lace, welding accessories,
young tapes, supplies and fire protection, pressure relief valves, steel pipe, brass foot
valve, brass gate valve - gate valve, brass swing check valve, brass ball valve - alloy ball
valve, accessories stainless steel - stainless steel valve.

In addition, Minh Hoa Thanh Import Export Co., Ltd. also distribute water meters
with brandnames of Unik (Taiwan), Zenner-Coma (Germany ), Shinha (South Korea) ...

CHAPTER 2
INTRODUCTION ABOUT INTERNSHIP
2.1 The Duties and Responsibilities Performed in Minh Hoa Thanh
2.1.1 Assistance for Import-export Department
Help with shipping jobs:
 Deal with each step of the shipping process; coordinate shipping with customs
agents for clearance on overseas deliveries;
 Deal with quotes from prospective shippers and handle claims with insurance
companies if any shipment problems happen to occur.
 Provide efficient delivery logistics through data management
 Compute international fees for each shipment, and keep track of shipment
payments and quotas.
 Compile carrier and route assignments
 Identify shipments, collect data, and register packages with logistics agencies.
Help with international transactions
 Receiving, and record keeping for international transactions:
 Fill out import-export documentation such as commercial documents, packing
list, Certificate of Origin (CO), financial documents, transport documents,
insurance documents, inspection certificate, the export sales contract, the
contract of carriage, the contract of cargo insurance and other international
trade related documents
 Ckeck letter of credit (L/C), focus on: amount, unit price, expiry date,
presentation period, latest shipment date, goods description.
Help with custom clearance
 Provide guidance and oversight to supply chain management on all controlled
import and export transactions.
 Research and provide information required for customs clearance
Most of their working day is spent in an office atmosphere such as doing all
documentation adheres to import-export policies and laws

2.1.2 Assistance for Sales Department
Deal the sales contract with foreign customers.
Negotiating the right deal with their importers about factors such as unit price,
delivery times, payment terms or the quality of the goods. Both sides continue
negotiatiing until they achieve comfort and happiness with the agreement. Negotiations
can be unsuccessful if either side feels forced into a corner.

 Conducting some basic research into a potential supplier you can work out

sure that they understand the meaning

2.2 Achievements
2.2.1 Learning from import – export document jobs
Impoer-export department helps stuends know the different types of documents used in
the foreign trade (import and export), which documents usually require the customs, the
requirements for various documents and how to fill in these documents correctly. These
knowledge is achieved such as
 Analysing the various classifications and requirements of export documents
 Learning what functions export documents perform
 Learning the different types of documents of origin that evidence the origin of
products
 Analysing the various commercial and administrative documents
 Examining other documents that may be required in international business
transactions
2.2.2 Learning from customer service jobs
Sales teams has provid the sudent with excellent customer service that is essential to
do the long-term business after student’s graduation. As the result, the student can build
customer loyalty, create effective first impressions and manage customer expectations.
Moreover, there are some softskill can be improve such as:

3.3 Job description
At the first week, the student has time to make friends with colleagues in the
company. Then the student is trained import-export documents. All staff in import-export
department and sales department are willing to support the student.
At The second and third week, the student is allowed to practice imort-export
documents, do custom clearance on ECUS5-VNACCS, apply for C/O. At this time, the
student has time to learn SC, L/C and translate SC for Minh Hoa Thanh.
At the other weeks, two departments give the student a chance to work as the real
staff in the company. The student has chance to deal with the customers, the suppliers.
Moreover, the students has more time to translate ans assist staff in Minh Hoa Thanh.
At the last week, the company give documents to the students for this report. In the
other time, the student find new customers for sales department. At last, two department
enjoy small party with the student to say goodbye.

INTERNSHIP SUMMARY
4.1 New Skills Acquired and Skills Improved
There are three main knowledge that student has learnt from this intership.
The first, it is soft skills such as problem-solving skill, communication skill,
presentation skill. soft skills are important to the success of almost all people. Another
reason hiring managers and employers look for applicants with soft skills is because soft
skills are transferable skills that can be used regardless of the job at which the person is
working.
The second, it is sales skill that is very important knowledge to support the student
to find good job in the future. Specially, this is product knowledge that helps sales staff
attract the customers to the company. he most important of today’s sales skills is simply
understanding the buyer. It’s the foundation of effective selling. But it involves more than
just understanding who the buyer is.
The last, it is translation skill. In the business translation field, many folks assume
all you need is knowledge of two languages. A high quality translation must be many
things: Easily understood, well-written, true to the subtleties and spirit of the original as
well as the meaning.
4.2 Management techniques observed.
Minh Hoa Thanh has effective management techniques applied for its business
such as select the right people and develop it staff, as well as being positive and
constructive in developing the company.
The sales manager is only as good as their team. He emphasises the importance of
focusing on his sales staff’s development. To him, Helping his employees to succeed –
their success is his success, as well as Minh Hoa Thanh’s success. He is always willing to
coach his sales team and coach them and coach them until they become the best sales
team.
In import-export department, the manager also give his staff to improve their
knowledge, as well as English language. Moreover, Minh Hoa Thanh always look for the
talents who can devote themselves for the company.
In addition, Minh Hoa Thanh tries to create good working environment for its staff
to make sure that they always feel comfortable when working. This is the best
management techniques to increase staff’s satisfaction and productivity.

4.3 Classroom skills employed
Thanks to English skills such as reading skill, writing skill, listening skill and
speaking skill that help the student to complete the intership in Minh hoa Thanh well.
Companies who conduct business internationally are likely to be engaging with
people who speak English as a first or second language on a regular basis making the
ability to use English in the workplace a very valuable skill.
A good knowledge of English allows the student to communicate effectively with
international customers. The student uses English for a variety of purposes including in
meetings and negotiations, for translation and interpretion, writing reports, giving
presentations and in social situations.
To build successful relationships, the student understands the different tones and
styles that can be used in business contexts and have the ability to determine which is
suitable. Moreover, the student works on soft skills including how to effectively manage,
persuade and negotiate in English.
In short english skills help the student create a good translation is a matter of
grammar, vocabulary, and cultural knowledge. In addition, it helps the students learn new
skills in Minh Hoa Thanh, as well as supporting them to work well.
4.4 Problem encountered
 Problem 1 : There is no a translator in Minh Hoa Thanh. This is the big problem
that cause negative effect to customer service and sales.
Solution : until now Minh Hoa Thanh has not recruit a translator for its business.
Thus recruiting a good translator and interpretor is compulsory now.
 Problem 2 : Forms of import-export documents are not good and not clear. This
can affect to customers’ satisfection when they receive bad form of documents.
Solution : Minh Hoa Thanh should focus on re-design new form that help
customers can read them clearly ans easily.
 Problem 3 : The marketing strategies is not good enough. Then Minh Hoa Thanh
has a limitation of marketshare development.
Solution : Minh Hoa Thanh deploys marketing mix that brings brandnames to
international customers. Especially, Minh Hoa Thanh should focus on marketing on
because it is cheap and effective.

4.5 Lesson learned
During the internship time, the student has experienced the real working
environment that involves the social interactions at the workplace, including interactions
with peers, subordinates, managers and director.
It is a location of management and organization. Important and compulsory duties
are carried out here under the supervision of a head. One of the most wonderful and
beneficial things an office environment can teach the student is time management. By the
way, the student has been learning how behave yourself in front of others.
Moreover, The best thing about working in an office is the excitement of learning
something new on a regular basis. Here you will learn to become an experienced and
diplomatic person.
However, one of the worst side effects of working in an office is that it encourages
a sedentary lifestyle. The staff usually sit at their desks all day. This makes them a lazier
person as they don’t walk around or do any chores. Not just that, it strains our neck and
back.

5.1 Self-evaluation and recommendations
Self-evaluation
After internship time, the student learnt a lot from Minh Hoa Thanh. This will be
the good skills and knowledge that support student for coming jobs. Now the student feel
more confident and experienced on real working more than just learning at shool.
Some skills needed for work:

 Attentiveness.
 Clear Communication Skills.
 Ability to Use "Positive Language”
 Acting Skills
 Time Management Skills.
 Ability to "Read" Customers
 Being a creative people

 Knowing how to communicate with other

Recommendations
 For school
After experiencing an internship, the student highly suggest main recommendation
to our school. The soft skills should be strongly taught in the class. Nowadays, there are a
wide range of other qualities that recruiters look for in potential candidates. These are
often referred to as “soft skills”. In today’s ever-competitive job market, the measure of
an individual’s general career success is the ability to use these soft skills to adapt to any
assignment. It cannot be expressed adequately how important soft skills are and how they
can position a candidate for success in the workplace

For future internship
 Don’t be shy to enjoy the intership.
 Make friends with all people from the departments as you will need their
supports.
 Be comfortable to ask questions to them and support them.
 Make a list of all the things you want to learn
5.2 Conclusion
Firstly, the student highly appreciate the people in Minh Hoa Thanh. They try their
best to support the student to complete the report well. Especially, the student would like
to thanks to two departments including import-export department and sales department.
They never mind reminding me whenever the student has mistaks. Then they are very
friendly to correct all mistakes with their kindness.
In addition, the student would like to say thanks to all the teachers who correct my
mistakes during intership. You are very kind and great to your students. The student alsi
highly respect and grateful all of my teachers. The student wish all of you health, luck and
success.
In the internship, I have been more mature and confidence for my future jobs.
Strong points
After all, the student realize that all the skills and knowledge learnt from our school
are good and useful for us when we graduate and work. Because we can apply our
knowled and our skills in real working.
Weak points
However, practice in our school is just little. Thus we needmore practice to make sure
that we cannot confuse when joining real working.
Finally, the student has a great time to study in Van Hien university with my friends. The
student would like to thanks to our teachers again and the student ensure that studying in
Van Hien university is always kept my mind.

At this time, the student has time to learn SC, L/C and translate SC for Minh Hoa Thanh. At the other weeks, two departments give the student a chance to work as the real staff in the company. The student has chance to deal with the customers, the suppliers. Moreover, the students has more time to translate ans assist staff in Minh Hoa Thanh. At the last week, the company give documents to the students for this report. In the other time, the student find new customers for sales department. At last, two department enjoy small party with the student to say goodbye.

The first, it is soft skills such as problem-solving skill, communication skill, presentation skill. soft skills are important to the success of almost all people. Another reason hiring managers and employers look for applicants with soft skills is because soft skills are transferable skills that can be used regardless of the job at which the person is working. The second, it is sales skill that is very important knowledge to support the student to find good job in the future. Specially, this is product knowledge that helps sales staff attract the customers to the company. he most important of today’s sales skills is simply understanding the buyer. It’s the foundation of effective selling. But it involves more than just understanding who the buyer is. The last, it is translation skill. In the business translation field, many folks assume all you need is knowledge of two languages. A high quality translation must be many things: Easily understood, well-written, true to the subtleties and spirit of the original as well as the meaning. 4.2 Management techniques observed. Minh Hoa Thanh has effective management techniques applied for its business such as select the right people and develop it staff, as well as being positive and constructive in developing the company. The sales manager is only as good as their team. He emphasises the importance of focusing on his sales staff’s development. To him, Helping his employees to succeed – their success is his success, as well as Minh Hoa Thanh’s success. He is always willing to coach his sales team and coach them and coach them until they become the best sales team. In import-export department, the manager also give his staff to improve their knowledge, as well as English language. Moreover, Minh Hoa Thanh always look for the talents who can devote themselves for the company. In addition, Minh Hoa Thanh tries to create good working environment for its staff to make sure that they always feel comfortable when working. Companies who conduct business internationally are likely to be engaging with people who speak English as a first or second language on a regular basis making the ability to use English in the workplace a very valuable skill. A good knowledge of English allows the student to communicate effectively with international customers. The student uses English for a variety of purposes including in meetings and negotiations, for translation and interpretion, writing reports, giving presentations and in social situations. To build successful relationships, the student understands the different tones and styles that can be used in business contexts and have the ability to determine which is suitable. Moreover, the student works on soft skills including how to effectively manage, persuade and negotiate in English. In short english skills help the student create a good translation is a matter of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural knowledge. In addition, it helps the students learn new skills in Minh Hoa Thanh, as well as supporting them to work well. 4.4 Problem encountered  Problem 1 : There is no a translator in Minh Hoa Thanh. This is the big problem that cause negative effect to customer service and sales. Solution : until now Minh Hoa Thanh has not recruit a translator for its business. Thus recruiting a good translator and interpretor is compulsory now.  Problem 2 : Forms of import-export documents are not good and not clear. This can affect to customers’ satisfection when they receive bad form of documents. Solution : Minh Hoa Thanh should focus on re-design new form that help customers can read them clearly ans easily.  Problem 3 : The marketing strategies is not good enough. Then Minh Hoa Thanh has a limitation of marketshare development. Solution : Minh Hoa Thanh deploys marketing mix that brings brandnames to international customers. Especially, Minh Hoa Thanh should focus on marketing on because it is cheap and effective.

It is a location of management and organization. Important and compulsory duties are carried out here under the supervision of a head. One of the most wonderful and beneficial things an office environment can teach the student is time management. By the way, the student has been learning how behave yourself in front of others. Moreover, The best thing about working in an office is the excitement of learning something new on a regular basis. Here you will learn to become an experienced and diplomatic person. However, one of the worst side effects of working in an office is that it encourages a sedentary lifestyle. The staff usually sit at their desks all day. This makes them a lazier person as they don’t walk around or do any chores. Not just that, it strains our neck and back.
