About - Problem
• partner countries are experiencing a very critical
situation due to the high number of refugees present on
their territory: most of these are Syrian citizens
• Refugees include a high percentage of former University
students who had to interrupt their academic
curriculum.

RESCUE - Objective
• One of the main objectives is to help the Partner Country
Universities to create R-SOS units (Refugee Student
Operational Support Unit)

R-SOS Mission
• help the refugee students in resuming their
academic training path by accessing the
standard curricula on the same basis as all the
other students

• Physical R-SOS is Just created (equipment, location,
furniture, staff)
• It was physically existed without equipment and
partially operated

R-SOS Activities
• Pilot courses in English, IT, Math.
• Training, providing them with basic skills and
competencies for employment purposes
• Provide psychological advising
• Provide them with available scholarships
• Help them filling the application
• Preparing social activities (athletic competitions,
ship, trips, exhibitions)

Camps Visit
• Azraq and Za’tari camp visits:
• introduced the project
• explained the role of R-SOS unit
• provided them with contact information
• The opportunity of Azraq camp is higher than that
for Zaatari camp because of the distance.
• We answered their questions related to Distance
learning, scholarships (number, how to apply,
English skills, soft skills)

• Dissemination and sustainability plans and
strategies are in preparation phase
• ZUJ modified the regulations and
organizational structure to have the R-SOS
unit
• Networking locally and globally in projects
that benefit local and global communities.
• Facilitate cultural understanding with
international counterparts
• Exposing the current situation of Refugees,
specially students, to the world society
