Present and discuss Arithmetic Sequences. Use examples
as illustrative examples.
A person is considering two job offers. Company A will
initially pay ₱150, 000 a year with a guaranteed raise of
₱5, 000 each year. Company B offers a starting salary of
₱160, 000 a year but will only guarantee a raise of ₱2,
000 a year.

abstractions about the lesson
 An arithmetic sequence or arithmetic progression
is a sequence in which each term after the first
differs from the preceding term by a constant. The
difference between consecutive terms is called the
common difference of the sequence.
 The nth term (the general term) of an arithmetic
sequence with first term a_1 and common
difference d is a_n= a_1+(n-1)d.
G. Evaluating Learning Expand each sum by writing the first three terms and the
last term. Then, use the formula for the sum of the first n
terms of an arithmetic sequence to find the indicated sum.
1. ∑_(i=1)^17▒〖(5i+3)〗
2. ∑_(i=1)^30▒〖(-3i+5)〗
Solve each problem.
1. Find the sum of the even integers between 21 and 45.
2. Find the sum of the odd integers between 30 and 54.
