Checking of Attendance (Students who are absent will be given an
activity)
Kung sakasakaling di tayo marunong mag compute example sa sempling
pag add or pagsubtract anu kaya ang mangyayari satin?
Possibilites na maluko tayo or maintuan kita right?
Review: (Students will be asking the following question)
1. What is integer?
2. What are numbers represented by integers?
3. Can you give some examples of integers?
Students Activity:
h
Motivation:
Group Game “Pass and represent my color counters”
The class will be grouped into 2 and select 8 representatives by
group. The students selected will form a line facing at the back of the
room. The teacher will ask the first student to pick a flash card where the
given is written and he/she will answer it and pass the sum by moving
his/her head part like eyes, tongue or lips to the next student and so on.
The first group to finish and give the sum to the teacher will be given 1
point, 3 rounds will be given. The group with 2 points will be declared a
winner.
Use the color counters provided. Each group are task to represents each
expression by using color counters
USE COLOR RED FOR POSITIVE AND BLACK FOR NEGATIVE
EXAMPLE:
1. 6
2. -7
3. 5
4. 8
5. -9
6. -10
*Each student will give their
opinion about the situation”

2.
Presentation and Discussion:
Indicator 5: ensuring learners’active participation
Give each students the set of examples that illustrates adding integer
using color counters (it is also viewed on the projector screen or
television screen) Indicator 9 and 3: Discussion through powerpoint
presentation
Let them observe and analyze the given examples and answer the
following question:
1. They are not similar
terms or like terms
Answer the guided question:
1. 2x + 3 = 2x + 3
Based on number 1 example, what have you observe? Why 2x
and 3 could not be added?
We cannot add terms which are not similar or like terms.
What are similar terms? These are terms that have the same
variables and exponents regardless of their numerical
coefficients.
The basic concepts in addindg polynomials is combining like
terms.
Try to think this ideas in your Science class about reproduction
“we cannot produce another woman if the involve in the sexual
process are not of the same type of organism, a woman plus a
dog cannot produce another kind of woman, or another kind of
dog, similar to that we cannot get the sum of polynomial if the
terms involve are not the same. Indicator 1: Integration of
Science
Take note: To add polynomials first, combine similar terms
Examples of similar tems:
1. 2x and x
2. a2
and 2a2
2. (2x2
+3x) + (5x2
+2x) (2x2
+3x) + (5x2
+2x)
= (2x2
+ 5x2
) + (3x + 2x) = 2x2
+ 3x
= 7x2
+ 5x + 5x2
+ 2x
7x2
+ 5x
In the second example, what can you say? Di-in naghalin ang 7
kag nga numerical coefficients? How about x2
and x which is the
literal coefficient? What happen to the sum of both numerical
and literal coefficient?
3. (5x3
+ 2x2
+ 7) + (x3
+ 3x2
- 10) = 6x3
+ 5x2
- 3
To fully remember these steps, let us infuse some common
concepts that we have learned from the past months which
directly refer to the COVID 19 PANDEMIC. We have learned and
are knowledgeable that to be less at risk of these infections, we
need to:
2. Combining the
terms which is
similar by adding
the numerical
coefficients
3. Copy the variable
and the exponent.
 It is for the good
and safety of
everybody
(students answer
may vary)
Why do you think class we need to follow these steps? Most
importantly in today’s time of pandemic? It is really matter to
follow these protocols or any recommendation from DOH or
IATF? Indicator 1: Integration of Health, E.S.P
Let’s have more example by watching this video
------- tagalong video presentation that discuss about addition of
polynomials --------- Indicator 1: Integration of Filipino
Exercises: Indicator 4: engaging students to individual activities that
enhances their ideas on laws of exponents.
Direction:
A. Reflect and feel the character in the situation and solve the
problem.
1. Pedro was a worker in Gaisano Passi City, because of
Pandemic his company forced to close and laid off some of
their workers including him. Luckily, he was able to received
his first wave aid, under Social Amelioration Program or SAP
of DSWD, represented by (4𝑚2
+ 21𝑚 + 15). How much
money he will receive after (25𝑚 + 11) the second wave of
aid was given to him?
2. Aling Maria, a mother of Juan who is a grade 7 student,
walks (17𝑥 + 2𝑥) km every Friday from Sitio Agcararao,
Jaguimitan Passi to Salngan National High School-Annex just
to get the modules of her son. How many km does Aling
Maria need to walks to go back home?
B. Find the sum of the given polynomials
1. 9𝑎2
+ 𝑎2
2. 2𝑏3
+ (−𝑏3
)
3. (5𝑎 − 3𝑏) + (6𝑎 + 8𝑏)
4. (−6𝑥2
+ 2𝑦 − 𝑧) + (3𝑦 + 𝑧)
5. (3𝑥 + 𝑦) + (2𝑥 − 𝑦)
1.
Generalization:
1. What are the steps in adding polynomials?
2. Why it is important to follow this steps in adding polynomials?
1. Combine like terms
Add only the
numerical
coefficient
Copy the variable
and the exponent
(literal coefficient)
2. In order to come up
with the correct
answer
Application: Indicator 3: Developing critical and creative thinking through
reasoning of the given situation.
Group Activity:
 Group yourselves according to your interest.
*students are doing their
activity
Indicator 1: apply knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas.
Indicator 2 : Plan and deliver teaching strategies that are responsive to the special educational needs of learners in difficult circumstances,
including: geographic isolation; chronic illness; displacement due to armed conflict urban resettlement or disasters; child abuse and child
labor practices.
Indicator 3: Select, develop, organize and use appropriate teaching and learning resources, including ICT, to address ;learning goals
 But before we start please read and follow our classroom rules
in doing your task.
1. Participate in your group work.
2. Minimize your voice while doing your task.
3. Listen to your classmate during their presentation.
 Each group will be given 5 minutes to discuss the situation/task
to each member of the group and after the given time, let them
present their work.
Group I. Gumawa ng tula na nagpapahayag nang detalye sa pag-add ng
polynomial.
Group II. Magtala ng 5 halimbawa ng sitwasyon na nagpapakita nang
pag-add ng polynomial

Evaluation:
I. Find the sum of the following polynomials.
1. 𝑐 + 8𝑐
2. (−10𝑥 + 𝑦) + (𝑥 + 13𝑦)
3. (11𝑎 − 2𝑏) + (6𝑎 + 9𝑏)
Connection
Across the
Curriculum
SCIENCE - In the topic of reproduction “can a woman and a dog can produce
another woman? Or another dog? Like in adding polynomials it should be in
similar terms.
T.l.E – In baking, for example, you might want to know how much the cost if
you buy three pounds of pour, two dozen eggs and three quarts of milk cost. It
represents the equation 3f + 2e + 3m (which “f” for flour, ”e” for egg, “m”for
milk) or any cost that u supposed to buy
Araling Panlipunan – In understanding economy they use polynomials to
model economic growth patterns, medical growth patterns, and medical
researchers use them to describe the behavior of bacterial colonies.
E.S.P- Discipline in following steps of adding polynomials in connection with
the protocols to avoid to be infected by the COVID 19 virus.
MAPEH- Understanding “steps”or “rules”esp. Health Protocols of ways to
protect themselves from COVID 19 virus
