PROFILE
Highly experienced MANAGER/TRAINER with excellent communication skills developed throughout
22 years serving with the HMForces both in UK and abroad. During my time in the armed forces and
working with a large training provider such as (Pearson in Practice) and most recently Freight
Transport Association (FTA), I have gained extensive knowledge and experience within the logistics
sector as a trainer. I am skilled, motivated and a pro-active, always working with diligence and a keen
eye to detail. Fully competent to contribute and lead in team situations who acts calm and responsive

• Manage a team of trainers within the Logistics sector of Pearson in Practice. Ensuring all
trainers are managed correctly in all aspects of a leader’s roles and responsibilities.
• Ensure a high level of training is delivered to the clients by carrying out observations and
giving positive feedback to all trainers.
• Regular meetings with clients to discuss their training requirements and to develop courses to
meet their training criteria.
• Liaise with the Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training (JAUPT) for certification of all Driver
Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) courses.
• Develop as a team, all course materials in powerpoint format for delivery to clients.
• Conduct Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Training nationwide to various
companies to develop and improve the knowledge and skills of professional LGV drivers to
meet the requirements of the EU Directive.

2. • Conduct a variety of Health and Safety training to meet the customer’s requirements in line
with current Regulations.
• Deliver the full suite of first Aid at work courses, meeting with the full requirements of the
Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
A1 NATIONAL VACATIONAL ASSESSOR (NVQ) From 2008 - 2010
• Logistics A1 assessor using a range of methods, complying to A1 standards in:
Driving Goods Vehicles levels 2 and 3, Carry and Deliver Goods level 2, Warehouse and
Storage levels 2 and 3 and Traffic Office levels 2 and 3.
TRANSPORT MANAGER/HEALTH AND SAFETY ADVISOR From 2005 – To 2008
• Implemented and enforced all road transport policies with regular up date briefings on current
regulations.
• Maintained and controlled a large fleet of vehicles/trailers. Which were heavily used over high
periods during operations ensuring all vehicles are highly maintained with current
legislationin.
• Controlled large annual budgets to procure leased vehicles of all variants from contractors to
support the company’s requirements.
• Optimised road safety campaigns and composed training with local authorities.
• Analysed all road traffic accidents to identify re-occurring trends and devised and delivered
remedial training.
• Structured and Co-ordinated licence acquisition training through military and civilian contract
agencies.
• Generated the environmental spillage response policy/plan to prevent or minimise the
catastrophic effect which could occur with a major fuel spillage to the environment.
• Health and Safety advisor to the Managing Director/Commanding Officer on vehicle traffic
routes, vehicle maintenance facilities, vehicle parking areas and working areas. Responsible
for carrying out risk assessments, carrying out safety Inspections and assisting with accident
investigations. Instigated procedures for the control, issue and inspection of PPE.
• MOD Driving Examiner for categories B,BE,C,CE,D1,D since 2001 to Nov 2008 with 18
month assessments and regular test checks from the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).
• Current on all EU regulations regarding Drivers hours, analogue tachographs, digital
tachographs and road transport (working time) regulations from completing the Certificate in
Professional Competence in National Road Haulage (2008).
Key Achievements
• Succeeded in completion of high intense driver training for the deployment of all drivers and
vehicles to the Middle East.
SUPPLY MANAGER From 2002 – To 2005
• Managed and controlled a department with equipment and stores in excess of £5m.
• Led a team of 10 staff and managed their career development. Acted as coach and mentor as
well as delivering formal training to line managers and team members in all aspects of stock
inventory and supply chain.
• Re-organised the department’s stores and accounting procedures and implemented new
policies for these procedures with instructions for carrying out frequent audits of the accounts.
• Responsible for carrying out risk assessments and ensuring that all PPE and stores/power
tools are fully serviceable and ready for issue..
Key Achievements
• Achieving outstanding reports on all Inspections carried out by external agencies.
• Deploying to the Middle East and supplying essential stores which were required to complete
construction jobs at short notice.
