CAREER SUMMARY
Feb 2015 – Date. Fleet/Compliance Officer for DHL Freight in Hemel Hempstead which involves booking and adhering
to a schedule for servicing/LOLER inspections, MOT’s, ensuring before and after use checks are carried out by drivers,
maintaining vehicle and forklift records in line with DHL policies, arranging repairs and breakdown recovery when
required, maintaining driving licence and ADR registers and monitoring WTD/drivers hours on the TMS system. I also
carry out inductions for all staff when required, driver assessments for both employed and agency, instruct on “Hazard
Awareness” for all staff coming into contact with hazardous goods, provide presentations on Hydrofluoric acid when being
carried and retraining colleague’s on SSW’s as and when required. Carry out regular SSW enforcement, supervisor safety
and ADR vehicle and driver equipment checks. On a regular basis I also carry out self-audits to ensure that the processes
in place are up to date.
Dec 2014 – Feb 2015. HGV Driver. Working for Morestaff driving agency driving for various transport companies.
Driving Class 1 (night driving) for Downton (General Haulage) on trunk runs to various locations around the country
collecting and delivering magazines and paper reels.
2004 – Sep 2014. Transport Manager and Health & Safety Manager for a busy multi-location military unit including the
writing and implementation of a “Health and Safety Policy” and “Transport Policy”. Administrative duties including the
provision of advice on training of a military and civilian workforce, control and allocation of a vehicle fleet including
servicing and MOT forecasts. Hiring of vehicles which included the control of the hire road transport and fuel budgets.
Future planning commitments for licence acquisition courses and the loading of personnel on to courses for career
progression and to keep in line with legislation for both health and safety and transport. Regular presentations on road
safety, health and safety and new legislation on the road transport and health and safety industry.

2000 – 2004 Senior Manager (Brigade Master Driver). Subject Matter (Transport and Health & Safety) advice on
training of a military and civilian workforce, future planning commitments for licence acquisition courses and the co-
ordination of instructor training for Supervisory and Senior Managers within the MoD. Providing contractual advice and
supervision of driver training contracts. Carry out regular visits and audits on transport departments in the area of
responsibility (East Anglia). Regularly carry out driving tests for all categories of licence as well as complete assessments
of all driving examiners in the area of responsibility to ensure their standards of examination meet the requirement.
1994 – 2000 Supervisory Manager. Transport and Personnel Manager for 80+ men and women and 90+ vehicles and
trailers in Europe, UK and Cyprus.
