I am a flexible and experienced Assessor trainer manager with well-developed leadership skills and extensive
experience in running a team; in both the maritime or commercial sectors.
I am a motivated individual who is able to work in a busy environment and produce high standards of work.
I am level headed and pragmatic with an open and approachable style; used to working with a diverse range of
people across the RNLI and commercial sectors.
I am able to work well both in a team environment as well as using own initiative.
I am able to work well under pressure and adhere to strict deadlines.
I have been involved with the RNLI since 1992; either as a volunteer at station as well as an employee on the
coast and at Headquarters. This has given me a comprehensive and rounded knowledge of the organisation.
I challenge the way we work and look for ways to future proof what we do for the next 5 – 10 years. Looking at
digital and innovative technology to enhance and transform our current systems.
Career Achievements
Lifeboat Divisional Assessor Trainer, South Division 2002 to present
Responsible for the day to day management of 30 Community Assessor trainer throughout my Division
ensuring they remain competent to deliver training and assessment in line with the competency
framework
Manage, Organise and schedule training and assessments at 19 stations within division
Update the training management system training records at divisional level. This includes but is not
limited to, attaching/de-limiting of development plans, updating of task books, recording of
assessments,
Managing the health and safety of the crews and Community assessor training team and conducting
safety audits
Maintaining good working relationships across the organisation; reducing silo working
Programming training through-out the year and managing ad hoc & commercial demands.
Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all training and assessing assets are
available and delivered at all times.
Training and assessing all aspects of seamanship to the highest level on all classes of Lifeboats.

with Nimrods & heavy transport aircraft avionics (both instances working on squadron and in
workshops)

Falmouth and Newquay Lifeboat 1992 to Present
A volunteer crew member/helm/Coxswain on both the Severn, Atlantic and D Class lifeboats.
I have also served on the crew fund committee as member/secretary and chair, managing crew
monies, facilitating and organising many events both crew and fund raising events
RAF Air Training Corps 1995 to 1998
Volunteering as a Warrant Officer and helping to run the Cadet unit in Falmouth. Training teenager’s
life skills either on site or away camping for weekends.
Perranporth and Bodmin Flying Club 2013 tp present
I gained my private pilots license in 2014, i own my own plane which i use for pleasure, i am a
volunteer committee member for Perranporth flying club
Feet off the Ground 2013 to present
I volunteer for Feet off the ground where we as pilots team up with Organizations, Airfields and other Charities
using our member’s aeronautical skills and knowledge to bring about life changing opportunities
Our team have worked with The Douglas Bader Foundation (Bader Braves), CHICKS (Country Holidays for
Inner City Kids), Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW), Cornwall Accessible Activities Program (CAAP)
,The Scout Association, the Air Training Corps, the Royal British Legion, local Schools and colleges.

I am a member of RAF St Mawgan Rough shoot club, A volunteer member of RAF Association ( we fund raise
for serving and retired RAF Members who require short or long term help and assistance., A member of
Falmouth’s Emmanuel Baptist church, A member of the South west Re-enactment society for 2nd
WW, I also
enjoy a wide variety of Music & dance, My family, Cooking, playing my guitar and singing, I was instrumental
in establishing the Falmouth sea Shanty Festival.
