SKILLS/EXPERIENCE SUMMARY:
Possess in depth & diversified experience of about 33 Years. 22 years with SABIC (Saudi
Basic Industries Corporation) & its affiliates and 11 years in Pakistan. Over the period of 33
years I had an exposure to all categories of projects related to construction e.g. Petro-
chemical plants, Industrial, Commercial & Housing projects.
As I have mostly worked in SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation) mega projects
construction environment at various positions, I had the opportunity of managing/ super-
vising internationally acclaimed EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) contractors
(e.g. Fluor USA, Bechtel UK, Mitsui Japan, Chiyoda Japan, A.K Kvaerner UK, Technip Italy,
Suderbhau Germany etc. Details given on below pages).
I remained involved in these projects from KOM (Kick Off Meeting) till the completion activ-
ities & gone through all stages of project construction including; Project Eng., Execution,
Quality Control, Schedule controls, Field Eng., Safety affairs, system/package completion &
handover activities of projects. More over coupled with my post graduation in "Construction
Engineering" from one of the best universities in USA and CIPM (certified International Pro-
ject manager by International Academy of Project Mgmt.) I feel confident in managing the

SABIC, SAUDI ARABIA EXPERIENCE
About (SABIC) Saudi Basic Industries Corporation: SABIC is the largest public company in
Saudi Arabia active in chemicals and intermediates, industrial polymers, fertilizers and metals.
SABIC employing about 40,000 personnel worldwide. SABIC is comprising of 18
affiliate/subsidiaries located in Jubail & Yanbu Industrial cities. SABIC has additional facilities in
almost all subcontinents. I was employed in SABIC from Sep.1991 & retired (as per company poli-
cy) on 28 April 2013. I mostly remained involved in construction and management of
SABIC/Affiliates various mega projects. For details please refer below pages.
Typical scope of works: In below SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation) mega projects, the
scope of works typically remained the same, which include the construction of:
 Plant Heavy Structures e.g. Reactors, furnaces, boilers, turbines, pumps, cooling towers
Pipe rack, Pre-engineered buildings (ware houses) & other such types of heavy struc-
tures.
 Plant Buildings e.g. Administration buildings, Plant Control buildings, maintenance work
shops, Power Substations including Heavy to small concrete equipment foundations.
 Utilities/Infrastructure works e.g. Piping culverts & bridges, Asphalt road net work,
Surface & closed drainage system, concrete & gravel pavements, laying & testing of
thousands meters of under/above ground pipes varying in size from 25 mm dia. to 4 Me-
ter dia. (FRP) & laying of thousands meters of electric, instrument & fiber optic cables
including testing & termination & etc. I remained involved in all above categories of
works.
 Housing Project: Worked in SABIC affiliate (Petrokemya) Housing project in Royal Com-
mission Jubail Daffi area comprising of 181 villas with high class finishing works (as per
Royal commission standards & specifications).
 .
ARAMCO/Royal Commission: As SABIC representative, for Feed stock facilities, I had the op-
portunity of working inside ARAMCO plants. In Yanbu worked inside NGL Plant & Rastanura Plant
in Jubail area.
I had also the opportunity of working in Royal commission corridors (in Jubail & Yanbu) for pro-
posed changes in their existing infra structures which includes the piping culverts, pipe supports,
underground/road pipe crossing, cable laying including duct banks, access roads etc.
Typical scope of responsibilities: Administering the staff working under my subordination &
maintained close coordination with the EPC contractors for the implementation of SABIC (& affili-
ates) engineering standards & execution procedures e.g. quality control, HSE plans. Material ap-
provals, Schedules monitoring, quantities & invoices verification. Preparation and clearance of
punch lists, review/approve QC dossier (prepared by EPC contractors, commissioning of facilities &
turn over activities of the projects. Receive daily, weekly & monthly progress reports from EPC con-
tractors, evaluate & discuss with my superiors. Prepare intra management reports. These reports
include project safety status, construction progress, procurement status, quality affairs and site
concerns & path forward. Participation in meetings with EPC contactors.

Following is the list of SABIC & its affiliates projects I have worked on:
SABIC Site Projects (Dec.2011 to April 2013)
Construction Engineer.
Supervised & successfully completed various miscellaneous projects in running petrochemical plant
Yansab (SABIC affiliate) where extreme caution (plant Safety) is required. These projects include,
Replacement & Installation of new 24 Analyzers & associated civil, electrical & Instrument cabling
works, 6 additional steel structure platforms, replacement & installation of pipes & valves during
plant shut down limited period.
SABIC Mega Projects
Yanpet (Saudi Yanbu Petrochemical Company). (Jan. 2010 to Dec.2011)
ECM (Ethylene Cracker Modification) Project.
EPC CBI Lumus & Fluor Project cost about US$ 3 Billion
Project Engineer:
This project includes the modification of existing facilities to enhance the capacity which in turn
will be required as feed for SABIC new Rubber plant in Yanbu Industrial city. My scope of work was
to execute such works under extreme caution in running plant. These modifications were related to
civil, electrical, instrumentation cable works & piping replacement with new ones. This project was
somehow caped by SABIC for the reasons bet known to them.
Yansab (National Petrochemical Co. Yanbu) (Oct. 2004 to Jan.2010)
EPC Fluor Project cost about US$ 6.0billion
Project Coordinator:
As SABIC E&PM employee. I was the first man on site & Involved in site preparation works & ar-
ranging the site visits for prospective contractors for Yansab projects.
Project Engr./Area Site coordinator:
Worked with U&O (Utilities & Offsite) project team. The part of the project I was involved is:
Cooling water Sea water, Exchanger area, Interconnecting pipe works, Pipe Racks, Storage taks,
Underground FRP pipes (from IM dia. to 4M dia.), RCC drainage pipes, unit substations & control
building with class of finishing works.
Ibn Rushd (Arabian Industrial Fibers Co. Yanbu) (Sep. 1997 to Sep.2004)
 Acetic Acid Project (Dec. 2002 Sep. 2004)
EPC: Technip Italy Project cost: US$ 70 Millions
QA/QC Engineer (Civil/structural/Architectural & UG pipes):Involved from Site
preparation till the Turnover activities of the project.

occupants. High quality finishing works were administered on this project.

Site representative: Worked from Layout till the turnover of the project.

PAKISTAN EXPERIENCE
Pakistan Steel Mills Complex @ Karachi. (Aug.1977 to Aug.1978)
EPC USSR Project cost about US$ 2.0 Billion
Asst. Site Engr.: Worked with CONFORCE LTD. KARACHI. A mega project. This was the first
project of my professional carrier. Worked on various Plant buildings & utilities associated with in
these buildings e.g. Operative power centre, Central laboratories & Dolomite shop.
DR.ALVI & ASSOCIATES KARACHI (Aug.1978 to Sep. 1991)
(A consulting firm of good repute)
 Project Engineer: 1. A project of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB). Development
& construction of Drainage & sanitation system in one of the town in
Karachi.
2. A project of Bank of Credit & Commerce International (BCCI). De-
velopment of low cost Sanitation & utilities works in one of the town
in Karachi.
 Site Engineer: 1. Textorium Ltd. Noori Abad near Karachi. Polyester manufacturing
Plant.
2. Abdullah (Pvt.) Ltd. Karachi. Iqbal Center. A residential & commer-
cial complex in midst of Karachi city.
3. Jumani Center Gulshan Ibal, Karachi. A Multi storied residential
complex.
NED University of Engg. & Tech. Karachi. Pakistan. (Aug. 1978 to Sep.1991)
Asst. Professor Civil Engg. Dept. Posses teaching & grading experience of various subjects re-
lated to Civil Eng. Also worked as Maintenance Engineer for the entire university including residen-
tial colony in addition to my teaching responsibilities.

Posses in depth knowledge of all construction categories e.g. 1) Industrial 2) Engineering, 3) com-
mercial & 4) Housing projects, satisfying their special needs characteristics, participants & clientele.
Over the period of about 33 years professional carrier, I worked in different capacities which I’m
summarizing as under:
PROJECT COORDINATOR (Yansab Project Yanbu)
Project Early works: I had the opportunity to be the first man on site & remained involved in:
 Coordinating with EPM (Jubail), Aramco, RC, Samref, Yanpet, Ibn Rushd etc. Collecting re-
quired data and transmitting to Engineering team in UK.
 Liaise with Ibn Rushd & other Government agencies for the arrangement of Yansab site
visits for the prospective contractors.
 Involved in Site preparation works e.g. Geo technical surveys, Topographic surveys, fenc-
ing, accesses to the site, road network, site offices, temporary utility services to the site of-
fices.
AREA SITE COORDINATOR/PROJECT ENGINEER (Yansab Project Yanbu)
I was involved in the U&O (Utility & Offsite) part of the project, particularly the works relat-
ed to:
Cooling water Sea water, Exchanger area, Interconnecting pipe works, Pipe Racks, Storage
tanks, Underground FRP pipes (from IM dia. to 4M dia.), RCC drainage pipes, unit substa-
tions & control building with class of finishing works.
Worked as integrated member of the U&O contractors construction team with the responsi-
bilities of monitoring the construction activities form excavation till the completion of the fa-
cility. Monitoring & evaluating the progress, verification of construction site instruction &
back charge notices, monitoring the punch lists & quality documentation for turning over the
systems to the owner. Attend contractors weekly progress review meetings & participate in
matters related to Safety, Quality, material status & Progress.
SITE REPRESENTATIVE/CONSTRUCTION mANAGER.
(Petrokemya Housing Project and VCM expansion project @ Jubail)
In these projects administered various trade (direct) contractors with the Petrokemya in-
spection team comprising of 12 Site engineers/Inspectors of different disciplines e.g. Civil
/Architectural/electrical/Mechanical/plumbing, directly reporting to me.
Responsibilities also included, the implementation of Petrokemya execution procedures e.g.
quality control, Safety, Security, Sanitation plans. Monitoring Working/Master schedules &
invoices verification. monitoring of punch lists, QC dossier, commissioning of facilities & turn
over houses to occupants.
PROJECT ENGINEER.
(Plant Eng. Dept. Petrokemya @ Jubail, Ibn Rushd Project Eng. Dept. Yanpet & Dr Alvi
Associates Pak.)
Responsibilities included: 1) over all project management & coordination of different
Engineering disciplines e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Safety. Follow up & expediting
preparation of project scope, Schedule preparation, Monitoring & revisions (if any), Cost
monitoring & control, Contractors/Vendors invoice approval, engineering and Material
procurement & project closing.

QA/QC ENGINEER
(SABIC, Ibn Rushd, Petrokemya & Pakistan).
Responsibilities included the implementation of companies quality control procedures which
includes but not limited to:
Inspections as per QC matrix (or Inspection Test Plan ITP), Inspection of third party (inde-
pendent testing laboratory), Issue NCR (Non Conformance Report) should any quality viola-
tion is observed on site, Conducts quality external/ Internal audits, Participate with Lead
auditor in audit as per plan, verification of As built drawings, Participate in the walk through,
preparations and clearance of punch list items according to system/package requirement,
and QC dossier, commissioning of facilities & turn over activities of the projects.
Following were the site construction activities I remained involved in:
 Industrial/Heavy Concrete Structures
 Steel Structures
 Earth works
 Roads & Pavements
 Surveys & Layout
 Quantity Surveys
 Utility/Infrastructural works (laying, testing & backfilling of Pipes e.g. FRP, RTRP, PVC,
HDPE, CS & RC. Laying & back filling of Power/Instrument/Telephone ensuring necessary
requisites of pre & post laying of cables).
CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER/ SITE ENGINEER
Supervises / coordinate onsite construction as per SABIC guidelines and project heads
instructions. Communicate with various organizations to facilitate the contractor especially
during their mobilization/demobilization and related activities, Ensure “on time” submittals of all
required reports, documents and information maintaining required levels of quality and accuracy.
Monitor construction progress and ensure that site activities & equipment items (and associated
components) are installed according to approved milestones & Scope of work, signing the
completion certificate, Review invoices of contractors & vendors and provide superiors with
approval comments and recommendations for payment, Review heavy lifting plans and their ma-
neuvering on site in consultation with Safety Engineer, Ensure that all Projects are being executed
as per applicable Safety Regulations & Standards, mmonitoring/supervising the documentations
to reflect the “As built” condition as required & etc.
PLANNING/EXECUTIVE ENGINEER SOFT CRAFT (CIVIL, RIGGING & HVAC).(Ibn Rushd ).
Following categories of work comes under the scope of Soft Craft Planning.
Civil Works: e.g. Repair/ maintenance of all plant Buildings, Refractory works, Plant concrete
structures, Surface drainage & under ground utilities.
 Rigging Works: e.g. Scaffolding, Insulation & Rigging works.
 HVAC Works: Repair & Maintenance works of A/Cs, related to all Plant buildings except
for Plant process system.
Using SAP network system, activities related to above trades were Planned & Scheduled.
Responsibilities also included the materials arrangement & Coordination of various trade
Contractors to facilitate efficient and timely completion of Maintenance jobs. Preparing daily,
weekly & monthly reports. The reports were indicative of job status, manpower utilization & high
lighting concerns. Also to provide input in preparation of yearly budget related to soft craft works.

Page 3 of 8 SABIC, SAUDI ARABIA EXPERIENCE About (SABIC) Saudi Basic Industries Corporation: SABIC is the largest public company in Saudi Arabia active in chemicals and intermediates, industrial polymers, fertilizers and metals. SABIC employing about 40,000 personnel worldwide. SABIC is comprising of 18 affiliate/subsidiaries located in Jubail & Yanbu Industrial cities. SABIC has additional facilities in almost all subcontinents. I was employed in SABIC from Sep.1991 & retired (as per company poli- cy) on 28 April 2013. I mostly remained involved in construction and management of SABIC/Affiliates various mega projects. For details please refer below pages. Typical scope of works: In below SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation) mega projects, the scope of works typically remained the same, which include the construction of:  Plant Heavy Structures e.g. Reactors, furnaces, boilers, turbines, pumps, cooling towers Pipe rack, Pre-engineered buildings (ware houses) & other such types of heavy struc- tures.  Plant Buildings e.g. Administration buildings, Plant Control buildings, maintenance work shops, Power Substations including Heavy to small concrete equipment foundations.  Utilities/Infrastructure works e.g. Piping culverts & bridges, Asphalt road net work, Surface & closed drainage system, concrete & gravel pavements, laying & testing of thousands meters of under/above ground pipes varying in size from 25 mm dia. to 4 Me- ter dia. (FRP) & laying of thousands meters of electric, instrument & fiber optic cables including testing & termination & etc. I remained involved in all above categories of works.  Housing Project: Worked in SABIC affiliate (Petrokemya) Housing project in Royal Com- mission Jubail Daffi area comprising of 181 villas with high class finishing works (as per Royal commission standards & specifications).  . ARAMCO/Royal Commission: As SABIC representative, for Feed stock facilities, I had the op- portunity of working inside ARAMCO plants. In Yanbu worked inside NGL Plant & Rastanura Plant in Jubail area. I had also the opportunity of working in Royal commission corridors (in Jubail & Yanbu) for pro- posed changes in their existing infra structures which includes the piping culverts, pipe supports, underground/road pipe crossing, cable laying including duct banks, access roads etc. Typical scope of responsibilities: Administering the staff working under my subordination & maintained close coordination with the EPC contractors for the implementation of SABIC (& affili- ates) engineering standards & execution procedures e.g. quality control, HSE plans. Material ap- provals, Schedules monitoring, quantities & invoices verification. Preparation and clearance of punch lists, review/approve QC dossier (prepared by EPC contractors, commissioning of facilities & turn over activities of the projects. Receive daily, weekly & monthly progress reports from EPC con- tractors, evaluate & discuss with my superiors. Prepare intra management reports. These reports include project safety status, construction progress, procurement status, quality affairs and site concerns & path forward. Participation in meetings with EPC contactors.

Supervised & successfully completed various miscellaneous projects in running petrochemical plant Yansab (SABIC affiliate) where extreme caution (plant Safety) is required. These projects include, Replacement & Installation of new 24 Analyzers & associated civil, electrical & Instrument cabling works, 6 additional steel structure platforms, replacement & installation of pipes & valves during plant shut down limited period. SABIC Mega Projects Yanpet (Saudi Yanbu Petrochemical Company). (Jan. 2010 to Dec.2011) ECM (Ethylene Cracker Modification) Project. EPC CBI Lumus & Fluor Project cost about US$ 3 Billion Project Engineer: This project includes the modification of existing facilities to enhance the capacity which in turn will be required as feed for SABIC new Rubber plant in Yanbu Industrial city. My scope of work was to execute such works under extreme caution in running plant. These modifications were related to civil, electrical, instrumentation cable works & piping replacement with new ones. This project was somehow caped by SABIC for the reasons bet known to them. Yansab (National Petrochemical Co. Yanbu) (Oct. 2004 to Jan.2010) EPC Fluor Project cost about US$ 6.0billion Project Coordinator: As SABIC E&PM employee. I was the first man on site & Involved in site preparation works & ar- ranging the site visits for prospective contractors for Yansab projects. Project Engr./Area Site coordinator: Worked with U&O (Utilities & Offsite) project team. The part of the project I was involved is: Cooling water Sea water, Exchanger area, Interconnecting pipe works, Pipe Racks, Storage taks, Underground FRP pipes (from IM dia. to 4M dia.), RCC drainage pipes, unit substations & control building with class of finishing works. Ibn Rushd (Arabian Industrial Fibers Co. Yanbu) (Sep. 1997 to Sep.2004)  Acetic Acid Project (Dec. 2002 Sep. 2004) EPC: Technip Italy Project cost: US$ 70 Millions QA/QC Engineer (Civil/structural/Architectural & UG pipes):Involved from Site preparation till the Turnover activities of the project.

A mega project. This was the first project of my professional carrier. Worked on various Plant buildings & utilities associated with in these buildings e.g. Operative power centre, Central laboratories & Dolomite shop. DR.ALVI & ASSOCIATES KARACHI (Aug.1978 to Sep. 1991) (A consulting firm of good repute)  Project Engineer: 1. A project of Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KWSB). Development & construction of Drainage & sanitation system in one of the town in Karachi. 2. A project of Bank of Credit & Commerce International (BCCI). De- velopment of low cost Sanitation & utilities works in one of the town in Karachi.  Site Engineer: 1. Textorium Ltd. Noori Abad near Karachi. Polyester manufacturing Plant. 2. Abdullah (Pvt.) Over the period of about 33 years professional carrier, I worked in different capacities which I’m summarizing as under: PROJECT COORDINATOR (Yansab Project Yanbu) Project Early works: I had the opportunity to be the first man on site & remained involved in:  Coordinating with EPM (Jubail), Aramco, RC, Samref, Yanpet, Ibn Rushd etc. Collecting re- quired data and transmitting to Engineering team in UK.  Liaise with Ibn Rushd & other Government agencies for the arrangement of Yansab site visits for the prospective contractors.  Involved in Site preparation works e.g. Geo technical surveys, Topographic surveys, fenc- ing, accesses to the site, road network, site offices, temporary utility services to the site of- fices. AREA SITE COORDINATOR/PROJECT ENGINEER (Yansab Project Yanbu) I was involved in the U&O (Utility & Offsite) part of the project, particularly the works relat- ed to: Cooling water Sea water, Exchanger area, Interconnecting pipe works, Pipe Racks, Storage tanks, Underground FRP pipes (from IM dia. to 4M dia.), RCC drainage pipes, unit substa- tions & control building with class of finishing works. Worked as integrated member of the U&O contractors construction team with the responsi- bilities of monitoring the construction activities form excavation till the completion of the fa- cility. Monitoring & evaluating the progress, verification of construction site instruction & back charge notices, monitoring the punch lists & quality documentation for turning over the systems to the owner. Attend contractors weekly progress review meetings & participate in matters related to Safety, Quality, material status & Progress. SITE REPRESENTATIVE/CONSTRUCTION mANAGER. (Petrokemya Housing Project and VCM expansion project @ Jubail) In these projects administered various trade (direct) contractors with the Petrokemya in- spection team comprising of 12 Site engineers/Inspectors of different disciplines e.g. Civil /Architectural/electrical/Mechanical/plumbing, directly reporting to me. Responsibilities also included, the implementation of Petrokemya execution procedures e.g. quality control, Safety, Security, Sanitation plans. Monitoring Working/Master schedules & invoices verification. monitoring of punch lists, QC dossier, commissioning of facilities & turn over houses to occupants. PROJECT ENGINEER. (Plant Eng. Dept. Petrokemya @ Jubail, Ibn Rushd Project Eng. Dept. Yanpet & Dr Alvi Associates Pak.) Responsibilities included: 1) over all project management & coordination of different Engineering disciplines e.g. Mechanical, Electrical, Civil and Safety. Follow up & expediting preparation of project scope, Schedule preparation, Monitoring & revisions (if any), Cost monitoring & control, Contractors/Vendors invoice approval, engineering and Material procurement & project closing.

Responsibilities included the implementation of companies quality control procedures which includes but not limited to: Inspections as per QC matrix (or Inspection Test Plan ITP), Inspection of third party (inde- pendent testing laboratory), Issue NCR (Non Conformance Report) should any quality viola- tion is observed on site, Conducts quality external/ Internal audits, Participate with Lead auditor in audit as per plan, verification of As built drawings, Participate in the walk through, preparations and clearance of punch list items according to system/package requirement, and QC dossier, commissioning of facilities & turn over activities of the projects. Following were the site construction activities I remained involved in:  Industrial/Heavy Concrete Structures  Steel Structures  Earth works  Roads & Pavements  Surveys & Layout  Quantity Surveys  Utility/Infrastructural works (laying, testing & backfilling of Pipes e.g. FRP, RTRP, PVC, HDPE, CS & RC. Laying & back filling of Power/Instrument/Telephone ensuring necessary requisites of pre & post laying of cables). CONSTRUCTION ENGINEER/ SITE ENGINEER Supervises / coordinate onsite construction as per SABIC guidelines and project heads instructions. Communicate with various organizations to facilitate the contractor especially during their mobilization/demobilization and related activities, Ensure “on time” submittals of all required reports, documents and information maintaining required levels of quality and accuracy. Monitor construction progress and ensure that site activities & equipment items (and associated components) are installed according to approved milestones & Scope of work, signing the completion certificate, Review invoices of contractors & vendors and provide superiors with approval comments and recommendations for payment, Review heavy lifting plans and their ma- neuvering on site in consultation with Safety Engineer, Ensure that all Projects are being executed as per applicable Safety Regulations & Standards, mmonitoring/supervising the documentations to reflect the “As built” condition as required & etc. PLANNING/EXECUTIVE ENGINEER SOFT CRAFT (CIVIL, RIGGING & HVAC).(Ibn Rushd ). Following categories of work comes under the scope of Soft Craft Planning. Civil Works: e.g. Repair/ maintenance of all plant Buildings, Refractory works, Plant concrete structures, Surface drainage & under ground utilities.  Rigging Works: e.g. Scaffolding, Insulation & Rigging works.  HVAC Works: Repair & Maintenance works of A/Cs, related to all Plant buildings except for Plant process system. Using SAP network system, activities related to above trades were Planned & Scheduled. Responsibilities also included the materials arrangement & Coordination of various trade Contractors to facilitate efficient and timely completion of Maintenance jobs. Preparing daily, weekly & monthly reports. The reports were indicative of job status, manpower utilization & high lighting concerns. Also to provide input in preparation of yearly budget related to soft craft works.
