information about and making senseinformation about and making sense
of the world around us. It involvesof the world around us. It involves
deciding which information to notice, deciding which information to notice,
how to categorize this information andhow to categorize this information and

Stimuli
The reception of infirmation is the stimulus
which results in sensation. Knowledge and
behavior depend on senses and their
stimulation.
10. 21st aug 2015 10
Attention
The stimuli that are noticed depend purely on
the people selection, aptitude and the strenth of
stimuli. To motivate ,the management has to
find out appropriate stimuli, which can attract
the attention of employees.
11. 21st aug 2015 11
Identification
The received stimuli are identified before they
are converted into behavior.
Perception is a two-step activity namely,
receiving stimuli and coverting the stmuli intu
action.
12. 21st aug 2015 12
Transformation
The individual has to consider the various
processes of transforming the message into
action.
For example:- tha announcement of bonus
should be identified as stimulus for increasing
production.
13. 21st aug 2015 13
Behaviour
Behaviour is the result of the cognitive pricess.
Perceptual behaviour is not influanced by
reality, but it is an outcome of the oerception
process of the individual, his learing and
personalty, environmental factors and other
internal and external factors.
14. 21st aug 2015 14
Performance:
Proper behavior leads to higher performance.
High performers become a source of stimuli
and motivation to other people.
15. 21st aug 2015 15
Satisfaction
High performance always leads to
satisfaction.if the performance is more, peopled
are thrilled, but when performance is equal to
expectation, it results in satisfaction.
17. 21st aug 2015 17
1. Intensity:-
The intensity of stimulus means that
more intense the stimulus audio or visual, the more
is the chance of it being perceived.
2. Magnitude:-
The size of teh object or stimulus has
a grater impact on teh perception process because
the size influences attention and recognition in a
more effective manner.
18. 21st aug 2015 18
3. Contrast:-
Contrasting visuals have higher impact
on behaviour. The contrast principle states that
external stimuli, which stand out against the
background or which, are not what the people expect
will catch the eye.
4. Repetition:-
Repeated stimuli always have more
impact on performances than a single assertion.
Repetition has the advantage of being noticed.
19. 21st aug 2015 19
5. Movement:-
The feature of motion entails that the
changing objects attract the attention of individual
more than the static object.
6. Novelty and Familiarity:-
A novel object in teh
familiar situation or a familiar object in a novel
situation tends to attract attention.

1. HABIT:-
Habits are inbuilt that is why individuawls
distingush objects, sitauation and conditions in a
different manner as per their habits.
2. LEARNING:-
The state of learning has a crucial tole to
play in the process of perception. However, it shuould
be recognized that ehg roel of learning is more
pronounced in respect of comples forms of perception
where the symbloic content creeops into teh process.
22. 21st aug 2015 22
3. MOTIVATION AND INTEREST:-
Motivational factors increase the individual's sensitivity to
those stimuli which he considers as relevant to teh satisfaciton of his needs in view of his
past experience with them.
4. PERSONALITY:-
The personality of the perceiver as well as the
stimulator has an impact on the perception process. The age,
sex, race, dress, etc. Of both teh persons have a direct influence
on teh perception process.

5.ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL BACKGROUND:-
The employee
perceptions are based on economic and social backgrounds.
Socially adn economically developed employees have a more
positive attitude towareds development tather less developed
employees.
6.ORGANIZATIONAL ROLE AND SPECIALIZATIONS:-
The modern
organizations value specilization. Consequently, the speciality of
a perosn that casts him in a particular organizational role
predisposes him to select certain stimuli and to disregard others.
