Prehistory is divided into the Stone Age (Paleolithic and Neolithic periods) and Metal Ages (Bronze Age). The Paleolithic period began 3 million years ago and saw humans living in caves and hunting/gathering for food. The Neolithic period began 10,000 years ago and brought the development of small villages, plant cultivation, animal domestication, and the invention of the wheel. The Bronze Age began 8,000 years ago and was when humans began working with metals and developing crafts and trade networks. Art during prehistory included cave paintings depicting hunting scenes, small figurines made from bones and clay, and megalithic structures like menhirs, dolmens, and crom
