Mahima Abedin is planning their website for a current affairs magazine. The navigation bar will include sections like search, log in, menu dropdown for sections like Britain, Europe, US, Asia, podcasts, about, and magazine. The linked pages will include the latest and archived magazine editions and their contents. House style consistency between the printed magazine and website is important, using the same colors, fonts, masthead, and clean simple design. The website address will be Theinformer.co.uk and was inspired by the designs of Prospect, The Spectator, and The Economist websites.

3. What will I include in my navigation bar?
After researching websites such as The Economist - World
News, Politics, Economics, Business & Finance and The
Spectator I have taken inspiration from options presented in
their navigation bars therefore on my website navigation bar
I will include:
A search bar
Log in option
Sections under a drop down ‘menu’ option where there
will also be a ‘featured’ section.
Podcast – Audio-visual purposes
Editorial/About – including social media pages
Magazine option – online and print editions
NAVIGATION BAR MENU
These sections will be the same as the sections in the
current affairs magazine: Britain, Europe, United States, Asia,
South America, Finance and Economics, Science and
Technology, Books, Arts.
Magazine PodcastsAbout
Menu which will drop
down to the different
sections of my current
affairs website.

Search bar
Drop down options
Coronavirus, UK exam cancellations, US presidency etc.
4. LINKED PAGE PLANNING
My linked page will be of the Weekly
addition of my magazine. The link will
take you to a page of all the latest
editions that have been published as well
as their contents pages. There will also
be a link to the archived editions.
HOUSE STYLE
I will ensure consistency of my house style
in both the printed magazine and website
by constantly referring to each edition
(online and printed) when designing them.
This will allow me to use the same colour
scheme of red, white and black, similar
font types and same Masthead as well as
use of images. By doing this my magazine
and website will be recognisable to the
audience over time as there will be
stability within the design. Seeing as my
printed magazine edition has a simple and
clean design the website will maintain this
look which will enable the audience to
understand and work their way around the
website effortlessly.
