2. Conventional elements...
The masthead of the magazine is always featured at the top of the homepage.
A section of news content always includes "today" to keep viewers updated on the news happening right at
that moment.
The home page navigation bar menu is the second graphic element at the top of the page as it is what directs
viewers to the different news sections.
The option to subscribe is also featured near the top of the page as this is the main way for the magazine
websites to gain profit.
A search bar is conventional to magazine websites so viewers can search a specific news headline.
The most conventional contents section include- politics, business, international/world, arts and
science/technology.
The website for each magazine also promotes their latest print magazine- this takes the audience to a page
which asks them to subscribe to the magazine again.
Images are used all over the main home page to add colour and break up the text.
A main coverline is still included on the website home page, it is either in the centre of the page or the first
coverline the audience will read.
The headlines featured on the home pages are the most recent news stories to come out.
3. Navigation bar menu...

By clicking this section, the audience
will be redirected to a page which will
take them to the most recent editions
of my magazine. The option to subcribe
will also be presented underneath the
two most recent magazines.
The search bar is centred underneath
the topic contents to make it easily
accessible and visible.
The option to subscribe to the
magazine is also placed in the
navigation bar menu- unlike most
magazine websites, the choice to
subscribe will only be shown in the
corner of the page and won't prevent
the reader from seeing the news story.
I have included a content section
titled "today" which includes the same
information as the "general news"
section in my magazine, plus, the
news of today/the week prior. Every other content featured in the
website navigation bar menu is taken
from my magazine and will take the
viewers to more information once
clicked.

Above the navigation bar menu will be
the masthead for my magazine.
4. Linked page...
The first thing that will be presented to viewers when they click the "our magazine" content in the website
navigation home bar menu will be the two front covers of my latest magazines.

• The magazine front cover to the right is
the most recent while the one on the left
is from the week prior.
• I will either have the content page
underneath the magazine it links with, or
a smaller image of the contents on the
right side of its front cover.
• The linked page is mainly about
promoting my latest two magazines and
their contents pages- underneath I will
add the option to subscribe to
the magazine again which
would allow viewers to read the whole
magazine.
• I will also include a type of editorial on
this page giving the viewers some added
information on the what these two
magazines feature, about the website and
what type of information my magazine
gives the audience.
5. House style...
In order to keep a common house style between my magazine and website I will include:
The same font type will be used from the masthead and the coverlines. The masthead on the website will be
in its exact font from the magazine and the coverlines on the website will have the same font as the
coverlines from the magazine.
The colours used in my magazine masthead will also be used in the masthead on the website to keep a
similar colour scheme (the colours are blue so I will feature this in a certain way).
Within the contents of my magazine, I only put images with certain headlines, I will also do this with the
coverlines in my website- giving some of them images while others only include a sentence of information.
You will also be able to see a link between the layout of my magazine and the website. The masthead will be
in the centre and top of the page, just as it is in the magazine. I will also put my skyline above the masthead
on the website as this is also featured in the magazine. Another link is the obvious- contents which are
exactly the same between the magazine and the website.
Audiovisual element: One other element I will include into my website will be the required audio or
audiovisual element in which I will be doing an original podcast of a chosen news story taken from the
contents of my first and second printed magazine. (possible something to do with coronavirus or the
Black Lives Matter protests as they have had a large impact on the year 2020 and 2021).
