magazine suited to the
magazine they are promoting
online
Lifestyle website will have
different sections on
lifestyle; for example, the
different headings would be
about Beauty, Fashion,
Travel etc.

3. CODES AND CONVENTIONS OF LIFESTYLE
MAGAZINE
Layout- The layout must be easily to read so people using the website can access the site without any
hassle, it also needs to have up to date gossip and news on current times whether that's about latest travel
updates, celeb gossip and beauty trends
Masthead- The title showing what magazine is called e.g., Cosmopolitan and tends to be at the top off the
website page
Advertisement- having advertisements on the website is a way of making money, this is known as a paid
partnership and usually is linked to the magazine
Hyperlinks- you usually find hyperlinks all over the website as it takes you to different topics, for example if
there is a part on beauty you click the word beauty, and it takes you to all the top beauty tips and stories
Current stories- having up to date stories related to your magazine keep the audiences engaged
Subscriptions- audiences can click on a link and can subscribe and sign up to the magazine's company and
keep them updated on monthly issues and exclusive content

4. COSMOPOLITAN WEBSITE CODES AND
CONVENTION
Layout- The layout is very clear and is easy to use, it's very simplistic
and modern which attracts their target audience of 18-34, it's clearly
laid out and is very accessible for audiences to find information e.g.,
hyperlinks, different pages etc.
Masthead- This is found at the top of the website in the left- hand
corner so audiences can know what magazine site they are on
Advertisement- The advertisements are usually seen throughout the
website, in the picture to the left is usually one of the first things to
see, having adverts it will benefit both the magazine company and the
company that is advertising on the website
Hyperlinks- Across the top of the website is 5 hyperlinks Celebs, Love,
Beauty, Fashion and Body, when you press on each hyperlink it will
take you to a page full of info about the hyperlinked you pressed
Current Stories- Most of the stories on the cosmopolitan website are
related to the stories in the magazine, current issue, and usually gets
up to date with stories and recent celebrity gossips
Subscription- Along the top of the website along from the 5 title pages,
there is a subscribe hyperlink where you can subscribe and get
exclusive info and lates issues

5. GLAMOUR WEBSITE CODES AND
CONVENTIONS
Layout- a very simplistic layout with the masthead along the top, with a
newsletter and sign in hyper link plus a search button. It is an accessible
layout for people to use and is easy to find the information suited for
them
Masthead- this is found at the top off the home page in the centre so it is
easily identified, and the audience know what magazine site they are on
Advertisement- there are adverts usually seen throughout on websites
as for this website they are seen at the top of the page and throughout
the website and different pages
Hyperlinks- in the left-hand corner there are 3 lines which take you to 5
different hyperlinks All Style, Shopping, Celebrity , lifestyle, wellness,
culture etc, all leading to different pages so audiences can go to what
they are most interested in and what to catch up on with that day
Current stories- Most of the stories on the website are related to the
stories in the magazine, current issue, and usually gets up to date
with stories and recent celebrity gossips
Subscriptions- if you scroll down you can sign up to receive exclusive
updates and top, biggest gossip about all the celebs
