1. Target Audience
A target audience can be formed of people of a certain age
group, gender, marital status, etc., e.g., teenagers, females,
single people, etc

The target audience for my school magazine is for parents, guardians and
students. The magazine is to include activities, efforts and achievements
that the school have managed to do. The pupils can see images of
themselves or friends too, and the same for their parents. It would be free
as it is provided from the school itself, so it may be popular and interesting
as it is at no cost so they will not see it as a hassle to buy the magazine.
The language is important to the audience, as it what they understand and
relate to. If I write in an extremely formal and factual tone, then it may look
uninteresting and boring whereas if I include images and factors that relate
to the school and make an impact, then both parents and students will be
interested to know more.

Reading this article showed me that it is important to clearly define my target audience and be
consistent otherwise it will not proceed to be successful.
2. Who is your target audience?
Parents/guardians, students
Where is your target audience located?
The local school, e.g. found in the library, handed out in lessons, sent home so
parents directly receive them
What do they think about your current brand?
They would hopefully think that it is interesting because it covers interesting and
important topics that are relevant to the audience
What would you like them to think about your brand?
The above, as it needs to serve that purpose
How will you attract them to your products or services?
Centre image which covers the whole page, colour theme has to be consistent and
make sure it is not too textual
Who else is competing for their loyalty and devotion?
In this market, there is not necessarily a large competitor whereas, making the
school magazine better than any others in the local district may well be as when
parents receive them when they are looking for their KS3 pupil to attend that school,
they want to see what it has to offer
Are you targeting business or consumer sectors?
Yes, as it is given to the audience
