The document summarizes a media product evaluation. It uses deep burgundy and black colors on the front cover to grab attention similar to magazines. The media product represents different social groups by covering a variety of topics like sports and games to attract a diverse audience. The product would be distributed through retail outlets, sold directly from the college, and available online to make it conveniently accessible. The target audience is teenagers and young adults as the content focuses on topics of interest to that age group like student activities and trips.
1. Media Evaluation
My media product uses a range of different convention such as style, fonts, colours and pictures for my front cover. I have gone with a very deep burgundy colour with a backdrop of black to stand out and distinguish the newsletter. This is similar to many real newsletters and magazines as they will also try to grab the audience’s attention. I tried to develop the colours to blend in together, therefore making it easy on the eyes but still very catching.
My media product represents many different types of social groups because it contains a variety of information. This ranges from sport to fun and games. This furthermore will bring in a diverse audience and hopefully gain more sales.
One media institution that would distribute my product would be the retail outlets such as WH Smith and other local newsagents. Also, it would be sold directly from the college. Another way to see it would be online on the college website. This therefore makes it convenient in all circumstances.
The audience for my media product would be teenagers and young adults. This is because it is more suitable and has more information that young people would be interested in. Such as student trips, UCAS, and college rugby matches.
I addressed my audience by putting big pictures on the front cover to grab their attention.
