Our first filming session took place at a Co-op grocery store in Wrose, Yorkshire, England. The film crew shot two scenes in the store, capturing the main character selecting items in the drinks aisle and freezer section. They set up their camera and tripod discreetly to avoid interfering with customers and including them without consent in shots. The first shot followed the character from a long shot to medium and over-the-shoulder as she selected a bottle of wine. The second scene showed her walking between aisles to depict the passage of time before interacting with an employee at the freezer.

1. Our first filming session!
Our first filming session was the second scene of our film which is at the Co-op. WE
changed location from the Co-op in Baildon to the Co-op in Wrose due to premises
permission issues.
For our first filming session we decided we needed about 2 different isles to shoot on
so she chose the drinks isle for the first part of the scene and then the isle at the
back of the shop with freezers on and a variation of other items. We set up our
equipment (camera, tripod etc.) and tried to keep out of the way of customers. As we
didn’t have any consent from the other customers in the store due to this being a
natural public environment, we weren’t allowed to include them in any of the shots so
we had to be careful if any were walking down the aisle when we were shooting. This
issue delayed us sometimes as we had to wait until they were out of the shot but
overall it wasn’t a big problem.
The first shot of the main character in store is when she walks around the corner on
to the drinks isle. This is a long shot and as she walks closer to us it becomes more
of a medium shot. She then looks at the shelves and as she picks out a bottle of
wine we move the camera so the angle then becomes an over the shoulder shot.
From when the main character had finished on the first drinks isle, we then shot her
for the second part of the scene walk out of a different isle. This shows that she had
been looking around the shop for some items and time was passing whilst she was
in the shop. As our main character had come off the isle she then walks over to the
freezer. We shoot her doing this by moving the camera round as she walks in a 180
degree angle. She is peering at the freezer at this point when one of the shop
assistants notices her as he is stacking the shelves, he then comes into the shot to
help her with her items, this them becomes a two shot.
