   The first 21 days
    are the most
    important in
    creating a
    productive and
    effective classroom.

   Classroom
    management refers
    to “all of the things
    that a teacher does
    to organize students,
    space, time and
    materials so that
    instruction in content
    and student learning
    can take place
    (Wong, 2001).”
   Time is crucial in a
    classroom.
   A Back up plan is
    called a discipline
    plan which contains
    rules, procedures,
    and routines.
   It is recommended
    not to have more
    than five rules.
   Keep them positive.
   Daily Routines
   Set the stage from
    day 1
   It is important to
    have in mind the
    classroom layout.
   A teacher must be
    aware of all areas in
    the classroom.
   Consistency Management
    Cooperative Discipline

   CMCD is the only program that
    promotes a positive behavior
    that has been proven to work
    through academic research.
   Strategies such as, go-around
    cup, vine of human kindness,
    classroom managers and
    caught-doing-the-right-thing
    slips.
   Prevention
    Caring
    Cooperation
    Organization
    Community

  • 3. Classroom management refers to “all of the things that a teacher does to organize students, space, time and materials so that instruction in content and student learning can take place (Wong, 2001).”
  • 4. Time is crucial in a classroom.  A Back up plan is called a discipline plan which contains rules, procedures, and routines.
  • 5. It is recommended not to have more than five rules.  Keep them positive.
  • 6. Daily Routines  Set the stage from day 1
  • 7. It is important to have in mind the classroom layout.  A teacher must be aware of all areas in the classroom.
  • 8. Consistency Management Cooperative Discipline  CMCD is the only program that promotes a positive behavior that has been proven to work through academic research.  Strategies such as, go-around cup, vine of human kindness, classroom managers and caught-doing-the-right-thing slips.

  1. Although time is spent on trying to have a classroom well managed there is also a point where there needs to be back up plan. This back up plan is what is called a discipline plan. The discipline plan has rules, procedures and routines. The discipline plan also goes hand in hand with having a well managed classroom because if the rules and procedures were not put in place
  2. Give definition-Consistency Management & Cooperative Discipline (CMCD) is a research-based, classroom and school reform model that builds on shared responsibility for learning and classroom organization between teachers and students. The program works with geographic feeder systems of schools from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade that includes all students, teachers and administrators in one geographic area of the city. The program provides sustained messages to children about what it means to be self-disciplined. Messages that are changed every year or are inconsistent for every classroom diminish discipline and achievement.
