2. Process
In this I created a poster for a PlayStation magazine that advertises star
wars battlefront and crash bandicoot. To do this I started off by creating
a document and making it a4 on international paper, after I did this I
went to find a background photo. To start with the background photo
that originally had was not one of this death star but one of scarif the
planet at the end of star wars rogue one however this did not work as a
background photo and I was not happy with it and then I found this
image of the death star from star wars battlefront dlc. After I had found
the background I decided what price I was going to use for my magazine
by researching other magazines to see how much they usually cost and
found that it is mostly around the 3 pound area and so I found a price tag
to use on it. Originally the price was rounded up to 3 pound however I
decided that I was not to keen on the way it looked and also that most
magazines are at the 99p mark on the end of the pound and so I found
one that cost £2.99 this was very useful and stood out well on the page.
After looking at other magazine covers I thought that it would be a god
idea to add in a bar code so that it stood out and fit the requirements of
the magazine cover, although sometimes the bar code is on the back for
a lot of the magazines it is on the front and then I though t it would be a
good idea to put it on the front this way it adds to the front of it and
looks like there is more. I then found the title for the magazine and I
decided to go with something simple of which I chose to be gaming then
I needed to find a retro logo for it and decided to choose the 80s style
arcade game logo and I think that it stands out well on the page. I then
chose to add a headline and a heading to the magazine which I decided
would mainly be about star wars and so I added the main protagonist in
a photo and made it look like a star wars magazine with the title above it
of star wars. I then needed a final touch as the magazine looked boring
and I was running out of time to make it more complex and added more
so I decided to get a picture of crash bandicoot who had made big news
on the original PlayStation one game getting remastered for PlayStation
four and then blend him into the magazine.

3. Process
• To start with I found a background photo using Google I found this
image of the sea and believed that it would fit well in work. Before I got
to this image I attempted three others and these other three images
doesn't’t work well with the information on it. I started off by including
pictures of somebody on a boat that had man fishing however this
didn't’t work well as a background and did not suit the purpose of the
magazine cover. The second image was a picture of penguins catching
fish. This also didn't’t work as it was not good quality and didn't’t fit
well. I struggled t find an image that fit nicely in the work so I ended up
using on of the sea that was plain and didn't’t include a lot so that it
looked better in the short period of time. After I found a suitable
background I searched for a bar code and price to add to the poster on
Google images, I was able to find one that fit I had price on the right and
the bar code on the left I had this idea when I was searching up research
plans for the processes and I saw that all magazines pretty much
followed this exact design and since I wanted to make my one official I
also included it in my experiment as an example of what I'm going to
use in the real thing. After I had done this I needed a title and it needed
to stand out so I had to come up with a name. I thought of the
fisherman guide but found the title to be boring therefore I changed it
to the harpoon this way it stand out more. I added different blending
option the main feature is the inner and outer glow, I changed the outer
glow to black on the title and then I made the inner yellow but added a
glare so that it stood out. I moved it to the top middle of the page and I
decided to add a harpoon to represent different more extreme types of
fishing. I then added a slogan and turned the colour red to symbolize
the danger of fishing and also make it stand out.

4. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
I will take the theme of star wars out of the experiments and the idea that I used to create the logo for the fishing program with the same type of concept.
The reason that I like the idea of star wars is because its easy and simple as well as the fact that it appeals to a huge fan base with means I will be able to
have a wide range for my target audience and appeal to many people. I like the concept of the death star on the background or a dlc map set in space for
my main photo and cover as I think that it can be set out very professionally and would work very well. I like the way that able stands out on these
experiments and would be interested to use that idea or even focus it around a character. I also like that crash bandicoot is on the front and although
wouldn't’t have him as big on the main project and front cover I would still have hi there, possibly smaller in the bottom right corner with an article about
him and a headline.
