Props Description
Acoustic Guitar
One of the most prominent props that will be used within my music video is that of
an acoustic guitar. The main reason for this is due to the song I am creating a video
for predominantly featuring an acoustic guitar and by having this item in my product
it reinforces and increases the overall professionalism of the product as well as
making the product seem more realistic. To add to that, acoustic guitars would be a
prop that would be commonly associated with the indie genre of music and by
featuring this prop within my music video the audience can automatically identify
the genre of music it is from. The way in which this prop will be used will be to show
Callum playing certain chords from the song. The scenes which will feature the
guitar will mostly be sitting down while the camera angles/ movements vary around
the protagonists, these movements varying from close ups, mid shots and to
panning wide shots. The same location will be constantly used throughout the
scenes which feature the guitar however the camera movements will change.

Beer Can
The use of a beer can within my music video will not feature within many shots but
will play a prominent role in helping to create a narrative (this being the fact that
the protagonists can’t escape from the reality he is in.) This storyline will be
apparent through the continuing re- appearance of the beer can, despite the
protagonists throwing it away, after his interaction of taking a drink from it. Linking
back to my target audience, the age group I’m aiming my product at (late teens to
mid twenties) would often be stereotyped as the age group with most actively takes
part in partying and having a lifestyle that evolves around having a fun. Through the
use of a well known brand of beer, as well as representing the party lifestyle my
target audience would be linked with, the use of alcohol within my music video can
actively be linked back to my desired target audience.

Props Description
Wooden Log
The final and least prominent prop within my music video will be that of a wooden
log. This will be used within scenes which show the main character playing guitar, as
he will be sitting down on the log as he is doing so. The main link that is created
with the wooden log that audiences can link back to my product is that of the
reoccurring outdoor theme that is present- directly connecting with the title of the
song itself, Down by the River. The location this prop will be shown is will be in
Ogden forest. As there are numerous fallen trees in the forest section of Ogden the
precise log and location which I will use for filming is currently unknown, due to the
space of time between scouting the location and actually filming the product the
terrain itself will inevitably change.
