This document describes props that will be used in a music video. It provides details for 8 props: a TV remote, microphone, guitar, hair wax, beer bottles, bottle of vodka, and plastic cups. Each prop description specifies how the prop will be used, who will use it, how frequently it will appear, and why it is important to the music video. The props help set the scene of a house party and live musical performance, and make the video seem more realistic and relatable to the target audience.

2. TV REMOTE
Prop Description
I will use a black TV remote for this music
video. This prop will be used at the start of
the music video in order to turn the TV on.
This shot is used because the lyrics say
“Put on the TV” so the use of this prop
helps to portray the narrative. This prop will
be used by Liam Hemmings to turn the TV
on. This prop will only be seen once and
this at the very start of the music video.
This prop is used to accommodate the
narrative and it also sets the scene of a
living room. I shall use a Virgin TV remote
as a lot of households have Virgin remotes
so this will be relatable for a lot of the
audience as they may own the same TV
remote and this helps to make the music
video more engaging.

3. MICROPHONE
Prop Description
A microphone is used by a singer in order
to project their voice around a room. The
microphone will be black and shall be held
up on a microphone stand. This prop will be
used for the performance based shots
when Liam is performing the song. This
prop will be used by Liam Hemmings. This
prop will be used quite frequently in my
music video as there will be lots of shots of
Liam performing the song live. This prop is
important because it helps make the music
video appear more realistic and it sets the
scene as a live performance. The
microphone used is modern as most artists
use the types of microphones whereas in
previous years, circular microphones were
used by artists.

4. GUITAR
Prop Description
A black electric guitar will be used when the
song is being performed. This prop will be
used for the performance based scenes. Liam
will use this prop as he is performing the song
and will be playing the guitar for the
performance of the song. This prop will be
seen for all of the performance shots and it
will be seen on camera around 10-15 times
during the music video. This prop is important
because it helps make the music video
appear more realistic and it sets the scene as
a live performance. A black guitar shall be
used because this is the coloured guitar
because black is a masculine colour and this
helps to represent his gender. Furthermore,
this song is quite dark and negative and this
colour has connotations which create this
mood.

5. HAIR WAX
Prop Description
This prop is used in order to style hair. The
hair wax will be white and shall be in a
small circular tub. This prop will be picked
up by Liam and he will place the wax on his
fingers and start to style his hair. This prop
will be used by Liam Hemmings when he is
getting ready to go out. This prop will only
be seen once in the music video and this is
when Liam is getting ready to go out. This
prop is not very important, however it helps
to set the scene that Liam is getting ready
to go out. This hair wax will be V05 Hair
Wax as this a trendy brand for hair wax as
lots of people use it. I am using this brand
of hair wax because it will be relatable for
the audience and this helps to make the
music video more engaging

6. BEER BOTTLE
Prop Description
Numerous bottles of Budweiser will be seen
throughout this music video. This is because
Budweiser is currently a very popular/trendy brand
so this helps to make the music video more
engaging if the audience can see one of their
favourite beer brands. These beer bottles are brown
with a red lid and label. This prop will be used
throughout the party scene by a range of characters
to show them drinking and enjoying themselves.
Liam will mainly be seen drinking bottles of
Budweiser as he is unhappy and trying to become
very intoxicated however some extras in the music
video will also be drinking them and this is relatable
to teenagers as they will often consume a lot of
alcohol at parties. This prop will be used throughout
the music in order to help set the scene of a house
party. Furthermore, because this is a popular brand
I would imagine that my target audience drink this
because my targeted demographic would be people
who enjoy drinking and drink a lot.

7. BOTTLE OF VODKA
Prop Description
A bottle of vodka will be used in this music video and it
will be fixed onto a wall with a fixed measurement on the
lid. A fix measurement will be used to clearly highlight
that he is drinking a double shot of vodka. The lyrics in
the song for my music video say “He changes onto
doubles so he doesn’t feel as sober”. Because of this, I
will film a time lapse behind the bar at the Halifax Irish
Centre of a double shot of vodka being poured. I will use
this prop as I have access to this prop at work and the
actors face is not shown in the music video so it does
not matter which actor uses the prop. This prop will only
be seen once in the music video. This prop is not very
important however, it helps the narrative flow and
reinforces the idea that Liam is drinking a lot of alcohol.
This prop relates to my target audience because most of
my target audience would probably drink spirits such as
vodka on nights out. This brand of vodka (Smirnoff) is
one of the most popular vodka brands so this will help to
make the music video more relatable and engaging for
my audience.

8. PLASTIC CUPS
Prop Description
Plastic red cups will be seen throughout the
music video. This prop will be used by a
variety of characters and they will be drinking
alcohol from these cups. These cups will be
used by all of the extras in the music video in
order to help enforce the idea that this music
video is set at a house party. Throughout the
party scene these cups will be in the framing
so these props will be seen in the majority of
the music video. This prop helps to set the
scene as a party because in real house
parties these are quite common props at
house party because they are a substitute for
glasses as people tend to smash glasses
when they are intoxicated so plastic cups help
to make the music video more relatable to the
audience and more relatable for a teenage
audience.
