2. My House
I chose this location as it creates the idea of peace
and normality. I also will not have to seek
permission to use the site. I can also use stunt
weapons and fake blood as it will not be exposed to
the public.
However there are some problems that I will have
to over come such as lighting, at some angles it is
too dark to film from which limits the shots I can
take, as I have to shoot from angles that allow
natural light in. I can film the scene during the day
and edit the lighting to create an ominous feeling.
3. Church
Through out history people flee to churches in
hope to find safety. In my trailer I am going to
play on this connotation.
However I face the problem of gaining
permission to use shots of the church and due
to it being a public place I might get videos of
people in the background.
4. Woods
The woods can be edited to look darker than the original shot
which would create a stereotypical eerie setting for a horror
movie. I play on dark shadows and create an ominous vibe.
I want to film in the woods as it is a part of the horror
convention but it is a public place which means I may
encounter members of the public that may be concerned if
people are dressed as zombies and running through the
woods. Therefore I will film any violent shots on private
property and film people running in the woods. I will also film
at times when there are no passers by around. However I
want to film just before it gets dark so the videos natural have
a dark tone but this means everything has to be filmed before
2pm as after that it darks dark quickly making continuity
editing harder.
5. Garden
Using my garden opens up the possibility to use stunt
weapons and fake blood as it won’t disturb any passers
by as it is private property. The garden links the ideas
from the house of normality, having the zombies attack
from the outside shows the threat coming in….(reason
linking to life and meaning).
However I need the scene to be relatively dark so I would
film around 3-4pm which is around about sunset meaning
it will get dark very quickly making continuity editing
harder and it all has to be filmed before it is completely
dark.
